Hi,

Having been thinking about buying a Ridgeline for a little while, and perusing this site often, I now feel like a voyeur who's ready to go public. As of today I am the proud owner of a black RTL (VIN 526xxx), and am of course now a member of this fine club.
Thanks to the level of activity in these forums and the good feedback from most members, I really was swayed into going ahead with the purchase. There's some really good stuff here, and I look forward to being an active member.
I'm already building the shopping list of goodies - bed cover, fog lights, roof rack etc etc etc. I considered buying the truck with much of this already loaded, but after comparing the dealer installed prices with self install, and after extensive examination of the installation instructions, I think I'm up to most tasks (will need that *special* tool for the side steps of course). As I get going I'll be looking for all the tips'n'tricks, as well as hopefully sharing any that I come across.

Be seeing ya.

PS - I'm in Maryland. Anyone else here?

Hey Lingered_I, Welcome to the best RL forum on the web!. I'm sure you'll find an unlimited resource of information as well as yak with some really great people here. I think I've read somewhere on the ROC that a member has found a way to eliminate the need for the factory threaded inserts concerning the installation of the side step / running boards. Shoot some photos when you begin the modification process!. May you drive her in good health!. :D

I too have a black rtl with the same vin 526XXX. Do you have problems with a whistling noise that comes and goes between 40 and 70 mph?

Also, this is the tool you need to install the side steps. It is a loaner. They charge your credit card, send it to you, when you are finished and send it back, they refund you.

This site has accessories at a great price.

Can't say that I've noticed that. Only done 60 miles so far. I did notice the reflection of the dash in the windshield at night. I'm fairly tall and can see the reflected bottom row of the instrument panel in the top 3 or 4 inches of the windshield. I needed to turn the dash lights practically off to hide it and get rid of the destraction. I'll have to play around with the seat to see if I can change the angle so I don't see the reflection, but I'd say it's a poor design.

Thanks for the tool tip.

Here you go - with all of 20 miles on the clock. Will be fitting the fog lights and blacking out the grill next week.
