Update to Navigation System?

I did a search but did not find anything except about updating a Garmin. I have the built in Navi but it is over a year old and was already missing a lot of POI (Points of Information). I thought there would a notice about an update or something to the map (and POI) but I have not seen anything. Does anyone know if there are planned updates, how to check, where to get them, etc?

Again, this is for the OEM nav system and NOT for any aftermarket systems (have those in other vehicles and know about updates for those)
