Door panel rattles after speaker upgrade

Has anyone had the door panels rattle after speaker upgrade?

I have amplified Infinity Kappas in my front and rear doors. On some music it sounds like a buzzing in my door panels, I have spotted around the install with hushmat where the speakers are and in different locations.

But when I fix one area another one shows up.

One thing I think it might be happening is that the plastic moisture barrier in the panel is vibrating and making this noise.

Has anyone just removed that plastic, and if so did this make a difference? Another solution that I'm thinking of is taking out all the plastic and putting dynamat or hushmat all over the door area.... Trickster

Trickster,

I have the same speakers and I did end up removing the plastic. I used insolite foam and I don't have any rattles in the doors during normal driving conditions.

However, if I hit the passenger door with my hand pretty hard, I do get a rattling sound (not on the driver's side). Location is the locking mechanism. I had the panels off and tried to locate exactly, but was unsuccessful.

Fortunately, the rattling doesn't come up during normal driving conditions.

I don't think the plastic would rattle. Did you secure the OEM speaker connector? You used new wires, right?

Good luck

I removed all of the plastic vapor barrier and covered the inside of the door skin, and the interior door sheet metal, with dampening material. See my install thread.
