Aux Input Jack

We bought a 2008 LX Ridgeline in October in Canada. The stereo has an "Aux" button but no aux input jack. The owner's manual states that only the EX-L with navigation comes with an aux input jack. I would like to try & install one for use with Sirius and a Creative MP3 player. The dealer tells me the stereo is made by Clarion and referred me to them. Clarion tells me that Honda is the one to help me out. My question: Can I install an auxiliary jack on the stereo that comes in this LX model? If so, where do I get one, and how would it connect to the back of the stereo (buried in the dash)? Are there Right/Left jack connections or wiring? Has anyone had any experience with similar modifications? I'd rather have the required parts before I painstakingly disassemble my dash. Thanks a heap!

I wanted to know if anyone has tried to update a lower model (RTS, RTX, RTL w/o Navi) to the Navi components (changed the dash panel and wired in the jack to the factory radio)? I have an '06 RTL with the factory radio and XM and I want to use an MP3, but don't want to have a cord hanging out. I would like to put the dash jack that comes on the Navi version. It sounds like a lot of people have had sucess with the USA Spec device, but I would like to have a clean install like in the Navi version.

Any help would be appreciated.

4Truku,

This tread shows pictures of what I used for the Aux input plug. http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15562&page=6

It's the last post on the page. Not exactly the same as the OEM but works well and looks nice.

Brian, thanks for the link. It looks like I had the same idea as you.

I suppose you used the USA Spec unit?!?!

Has anyone actually ordered the Honda dash components from the RTL Navi and installed them in a lower RTL model? Will that work with the non Navi Head Unit?

Thanks

Yes, I used the USA Spec Ipod control unit.

Thanks.
