Well after looking at the OEM-type camera, license plate frame camera, and the HitchCAM (www.hitchcam.com) I decided on the latter of the three. The camera comes standard with a plug that goes into your round 7-pin connector for the trailer wiring. The video wiring was run like other members have to the HU. In this case it's a Kenwood DDX6019. I didn't like the look of having something plugged into the trailer light receptical all the time. Wanting something cleaner I called HitchCAM. I sent the trailer wiring harness and the camera back to them and they wired it directly into the trailer wiring harness for a clean look...all I paid was the shipping. I can still unplug it if I need to do some towing. The install is much cleaner and easier than a license plate frame camera due to the easier wiring access and the ability to remove the last 2 feet of the wiring harness in order to wire it direct. Any questions, let me know. Pics are attached. :)

Can this camera be used seperately for use with the factory nav setup?
I'd much rather do your idea, than drill a hole ANYWHERE on my RTL!!

Most of the aftermarket cameras can be adapted to work with the factory nav.
Take a look here for more info...

I actually saw that thread after I posted it (rookie move, my bad). The next thing I'm buying is a backup camera. My wife drives our RTL as our primary veh. and she would rather have the camera than a remote starter (Imagine that!!). So once we come out of our long cold winter I'll be buying a hitchcam and tearing my RTL apart to install it.
Thanks for the FYI BTW! This forum rocks!!

Good choice. I thought about the FrameCAM but was worried about stepping on it getting in and out of the bed with the tailgate swung open.
