What the bulletin does not address is the root cause of the restriction. It is becoming known through the internet........

.........Sincerely,

Nice and to the point letter on an important issue for future failures. I used to own an '03 and I loved the truck!

Personally, I would replace the "internet" word with "Honda Element Owners community" and sign after "Sincerely" your name and "Element Owners Club member".

Suits hate to listen to people who tell them that they read something on the internet.

Good Luck on your quest!! :)

As a first-time Honda owner, I agree with your reasoning about why people buy Honda products, and I agree that the problem (if it indeed was a result of a "manufacturing defect") should be resolved by the company, but I have to take exception to the way you are going about it.

Threatening Honda with widespread support of "extremely low JD Power’s Survey scores" is ludicrous. You should remove any threatening tactics from your letter, if it hasn't already been sent, and instead, offer some ideas for a logical, constructive solution with "combined liabilities".
You are focusing on Honda's "unacceptable attitude" while exhibiting some attitude of your own in the letter.

Read it back to yourself, and think of the response of the intended recipient...
... my guess is that (in it's present form) it wouldn't be favorable.

Details! The desired effect will only come from attention to the details!

My .02...
Good Luck!

I agree with Pug.

As a businessman, I sometimes have to write nasty letters to those that deserve an earful. Generally, I will compose the letter and leave it on my desktop for a few days until the waters have calmed. When I re-read that same letter some days later, a lot gets deleted or toned down a bit.

Be business-like and non-threatening but at the same time, drop a few hints as to who you can tell this story to should they not want to listen.

Best of luck!
