Fellow San Diegans,

I was planning a trip up to Big Bear this weekend, and was thinking about picking up the Cobra Cable Chain that is recommended. I know they probably aren't going to make me put them on, but just in case.

Does anyone know where I can get some in San Diego? I called the chain distributor, and they told me to look at local Autozones, but I checked online and it doesn't appear they carry them.

Thanks everyone.

Chains on a Ridgeline? That's Kinky. And also unnecessary.

There are some places that when the weather gets bad, they wont let you by if you don't have chains. Even if you have a Ridgeline!

California DOT does have chain requirements in certain conditions, EVEN for vehicles that are 4wd/awd with snow tires... so yeah... we have to carry chains... bleh...

So I went up to Bear in the thick of the last storm. They stop me asked if it was 4X4 and I said yes. They said, "really'? I referred them to the tail gate and they let me thru.

The every next day we went up again and this time they wanted to see the chains even with 4X4.

P.S. get the cables that are recommended for our trucks.

Have fun!
