Pizza Man 12-27-2007, 05:45 PM I wanted to start a thread to see what kind of interest there would be in a ROC member Mod-Meet.
A discussion started in another thread concerning a get together to install OEM Fog Lights or any other mod you may be interested in doing. It would be at my house in Bristol, Pa. sometime in April.
I don't have a garage, but I'll try to secure something closeby in case of inclement weather.
I'm thinking about a 5-6 truck maximum. I can only hold three trucks in my driveway at a time.
It could be a fun time and we can get some work done at the same time.
I am 100% there!
If I am planning on getting a bull bar, maybe I should not install it before a fog light install or maybe the bull bar detaches fairly easily and it's not a real problem.
does anyone know of a garage/dealership that will allow us to use their facilities? (not tools or whatever, but the covered space)
Pizza Man 12-28-2007, 03:26 AM I should clarify the number of trucks in attendance figures. Until I'm able to secure an alternate location to do the work, I need to limit the number of trucks installing Mods to 5 or 6.
If you want to come and help out there is virtually no limit.
brutel1 12-28-2007, 09:56 AM Fogs are big on my list. Keith what kind of bull bar are you looking at? I like that look also and maybe the fogs would be better that way. If we are going to do some OEM mods I can get the parts discounted. Talked to the Parts Manager and he said he would do what he could to help out ROC members. May or may not be better than HA.
ONDLINKS 12-28-2007, 10:44 AM If you want to come and help out there is virtually no limit.
Count me in as a observer, helper. I had a great time at my last mod-meet.
Take a look :D

Not that Mod! Geez!
Although, that was a pretty decent era for me! I was actually able to pull that look off pretty well! :D
Keith what kind of bull bar are you looking at? I like that look also and maybe the fogs would be better that way.Likely a Hunter or Aries chrome or stainless. Anyone hear of manufacturers: Romik or Steelcraft? I am shying away from the Westin prices.
Once I get that on there, I'll have to decide if the nerf bars (along the side) are good or too much. I have a feeling that they'll be too much. In that case, I'll be ready to trade/sell them.
thoughts?

mdwalls 12-28-2007, 12:51 PM The Vespa look ?
brutel1 12-28-2007, 01:05 PM Looks chrome to me. Probably a chrome bull bar would look good. I've been toying around with either stainless or black. You could always make a mockup picture to give you an idea.
Pizza Man 12-28-2007, 01:15 PM The Vespa look ?
The Vespa would have been an accessory to the "look"!
Gee, where are those high school pictures???

I have the Westin Platinum Series step bars. They are chrome on stainless steel. The Signiture Series is chrome on mild steel. The difference was about $60 more when I bought. I've seen both and they are idenical in looks except for the imprint on the step pads. I've heard the stainless will not rust from the inside out as moisture will collect on the inside of the tubes and rust out the carbon steel over time. They both are quality IMHO.
StoneRidge07 12-28-2007, 04:47 PM I would be definitly coming to the mod/meet (Bristol, PA). I would like to get the roof rack on and possibly Westin Platinum Series Side Steps(maybe OEM fog lights?). This would be an awesome time to hang out and get some modifications done plus throw around other mod ideas.

Hey Joe, Sounds like a fun idea.... may be the incentive I need to get my "Ondlinks Style" moldings done..... (and the back up camera I have in my trunk for a year now)... lol Ariel say's hi :) he was asking for you while we were at the Mystic Seaport meet.
Pizza Man 12-30-2007, 05:07 AM Hey Joe, Sounds like a fun idea.... may be the incentive I need to get my "Ondlinks Style" moldings done..... (and the back up camera I have in my trunk for a year now)... lol Ariel say's hi :) he was asking for you while we were at the Mystic Seaport meet.
Mike if this Meet comes together, I think it could be a great day and a totally different kind of Meet. I'm looking into getting the use of a multi-bay garage in case the weather doesn't cooperate. ONDLINKS is coming and he's already installed the same rearview camera system. He'll make the install go pretty easy.
Consider bringing the boys with you. It would be fun to see them react to all the Mods being installed.
Six Rails 12-30-2007, 05:13 AM Map Quest put me around 7 hours and 29 min one way. Sorry but I'll have to pass on this one, but what a great way to meet people. Time for a New England mod party.
Pizza Man 12-30-2007, 05:29 AM No problem, Six Rails. Honestly, I think 7 1/2 hours is the absolute best time to Bristol. I'd expect it to be a few hours more.
mdwalls 12-30-2007, 07:40 AM I'm in Joe. I have been sitting on a pair of Hella FF 75's for a while. They should go good with the GE Night Hawks I plan to put in today. Bud
Pizza Man 12-30-2007, 07:41 AM Great, Bud. I hope this comes together.
shovelhd 12-30-2007, 04:06 PM I have no mods to do at this point, but if the date/time works out, I would be willing to go down there and set up anyone's aftermarket audio system gratis.
alsridge 01-02-2008, 10:48 AM I would like to attend, but I'm not going to do any mod.
Pizza Man 01-02-2008, 11:10 AM I have no mods to do at this point, but if the date/time works out, I would be willing to go down there and set up anyone's aftermarket audio system gratis.
Wow shovelhd, that's really generous and appreciated. :)
I would like to attend, but I'm not going to do any mod.
You are most welcome to join us, Allan. Maybe you can supervise some of the installations. I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet. Maybe Fogs, maybe dash trim.
alsridge 01-02-2008, 11:14 AM no problem
brich 01-02-2008, 12:00 PM I'll be watching this one. If I can sneak down, I'd be interested. Nothing to add to my truck but I'm sure this would be a great opportunity to modify my vocabulary. Ahhh the new bad words I might learn at this meet.... Plus a party at Joes? This may be as good as my 18th Birthday!!!
Don't ask...
:D
Pizza Man 01-02-2008, 12:48 PM Plus a party at Joes? This may be as good as my 18th Birthday!!!
Stay the hell away from my daughter, you! :D
Brian, as they say on TV.... COME ON DOWN! :D So far it looks like there isn't going to be much work being done. Sounds like a stag party to me!
ONDLINKS 01-02-2008, 12:58 PM Sounds like a stag party to me!
Whew, sure glad you said stag. :p
Pizza Man 01-02-2008, 03:03 PM Whew, sure glad you said stag. :p
Yeah, I'm not doing that other kind.
alsridge 01-02-2008, 03:24 PM I'm only coming, if Joe makes the Pizza. :D :D

No promises Allan, but at this point anything is possible! ;)
mdwalls 01-02-2008, 03:52 PM Be serious, Pizzaman make pizza ?
Pizza Man 01-02-2008, 04:12 PM Be serious, Pizzaman make pizza ?
Yeah, really, how far fetched is that! :D
63Tbird 01-03-2008, 03:29 PM Joe, Not to step in on you here, but because I know you as well as I do, I don't think you would take any offense to my making a suggestion. PLEASE! Take it as a suggestion Only! :D
I know it's not as central a location as your place, but if you want, we could meet here at my shop in Randolph, NJ. I have a big back parking lot, plenty of tools, restrooms, etc. Easy to get to from Route 80, 287, 78, 24 10. I can talk to the local Honda Dealership, know them pretty well, see if I can get something worked out with them to help. Don't know if they would do it, but I'm willing to ask. Also, have a good local deli. We could do a lunch order, etc.
JUST A THOUGHT!! :D
Pizza Man 01-03-2008, 03:57 PM Truth be told Andrew, I was hoping it would work out this way.
The only "garage" I can come up with is the one our Borough Sewer Authority has. I've asked about using it and although they didn't say no; they haven't said yes either. I know the Council President and the Mayor so I have a little clout, but they say they need to look into insurance restrictions. I can pretty much figure my request won't be approved.
I was going to ask if you had the facilities to handle it if I failed. I truly appreciate your offer and I'm sure the others interested do as well. You are right about being more centrally located. Some of the New England guys expressed an interest and your location would make it even more convenient for them. I'm about an additional 1 1/2 hours further south.
Let's see what the others think about a change in location, it's fine by me.
StoneRidge07 01-03-2008, 04:17 PM Sounds Great to me I will still definitly attend regardless. Thanks Guys.
John
63Tbird 01-03-2008, 04:18 PM Joe, Looks Like I Walked Right Into This One! NICE JOB!!! lol
As long as what we are doing doesn't involve any fluid changes; ie Oil filters, Radiators, AC, etc. my parking lot would be ok. We have to stick to nut and bolt type stuff. Although I have three loading docks I don't have any inside space.
We would have to hope for a good weather day. OH! thats right, your coming, "Mister Sunshine", What was I thinking.
If Pizza Man is there, It's always a Great Day!!! :D
ONDLINKS 01-03-2008, 04:20 PM Let's see what the others think about a change in location, it's fine by me.
Sure, no pizza to make. All kidding aside, great idea Andrew and thanks.
mdwalls 01-03-2008, 05:36 PM Who Said No Pizza !!!
Who Said No Pizza !!!that can't be right.... I love pizza
Pizza Man 01-04-2008, 05:51 AM Although I have three loading docks I don't have any inside space.
Looks like that gets you off the hook, Andrew. ;)
I was hoping for a garage bay or two. My biggest fear is a rainy day and no suitable place to work. We have a garage bay at work but it's blocked by pallet racks. Even if it was open it would only accomodate a single vehicle at a time.
I'm still looking around.
Pizza Man 01-04-2008, 05:55 AM Sure, no pizza to make.
Who Said No Pizza !!!
that can't be right.... I love pizza
Let me get a place to do the work first. We'll worry about Pizza, or whatever, when the time comes.
brutel1 01-04-2008, 06:31 AM that can't be right.... I love pizza
Hey Keith,
Have you decided on a "bull bar"?
Bruce
63Tbird 01-04-2008, 08:15 AM Joe, If I move some things out of the way, I can set-up one of the lower docks for a drive-in with ramps, which I have. I have brought my Ridge inside a couple of times. With a little moving around we could fit two in at one time. Didn't know when you where planning this, but I can work something out. I also have wheel skates if we need to get a truck sideways.
All hope is not lost, YET!!
alsridge 01-04-2008, 09:32 AM Joe, Not to step in on you here, but because I know you as well as I do, I don't think you would take any offense to my making a suggestion. PLEASE! Take it as a suggestion Only! :D

BruceI think I am going this way.... (but in stainless)

StoneRidge07 01-07-2008, 03:26 AM Keith that would look great in stainless. I am looking to make this mod within the next couple of months, hopefully by the time of the mod meet. Let us know how it goes.
brutel1 01-07-2008, 08:36 AM I actually really like that in black. It doesn't appear to be too heavy or take over the whole front end.
brutel1 01-16-2008, 04:53 AM Bit the bullet and installed the black Hunter Bull Bar and Nerf Bars. They look great. The Nerf Bars have more flex than the OEM because of the mounting, but feel really sturdy.
Pizza Man 02-04-2008, 10:24 AM any updates on this?
By the end of Feb. I should have some clear updates. I'm trying to talk the fire chief into letting us use the fire house. Three bays, each deep enough for 3 Ridgelines. If not, there will be a change in location.
StoneRidge07 02-04-2008, 06:59 PM That would be awesome.
