I need some quick help from you guys and I know it's not related to my Ridgeline so please cut me a little slack this one time....

My wife's 02 Odyssey (104k miles) is in the local dealer's shop for a suspected tranny issue and I just got a call from my local Honda dealership service dept telling me both motor mounts and the tranny mount are broken but the tranny is fine.

How long should the motor mounts and tranny mount last? Seems like 104k is premature failure based on every other Honda or Toyota I've owned...

I asked the dealer to get Honda to cover and I'm awaiting a call back so I would really appreciate any perspective you guys could provide.. (I also posted on the Odyssey site....)

Thanks,

Bob:(

One should expect the motor mounts to last the life of the vehicle, but failures do happen.

In the case of your Odyssey I would not call this an unusual issue. I hate to call it a known issue, but I think the Odyssey mounts fail far more than those of an average vehicle.

I would ask Honda to consider splitting the cost with you. They may go for it... no guarantees.

Good luck.
