I just had my Ridgline in for an oil change, and the service tech was unable to reset the maintenance minder. When trying to reset, the display changes to the following after about 10 seconds:

Service Due Soon
A 1

where A=Oil change and 1=tire rotation according to the manual. Repeated pressing of the select button will change the display to Oil Life, Service Due Soon, Trip A and B. If I turn the ignition off, the Service Due Soon display goes away until you try to reset again.

The service tech was no help because I do my oil changes at a lube shop operated by the dealer, but not at the dealer (it is closer). So, before I schedule a service appt with the dealer, is there something obvious I am missing here??

Here is what the service manual says:
Turn ignition to on (position II)

Press select until the oil life message is displayed

press Reset for about 10 seconds until the message MAINT RESET appears

press Select until the MAINT RESET > Y appears

preset RESET to reset the Oil Life to 100%

If the manual's instructions don't work, have your dealer reset the MM using the HDS-Honda Diagnostic System.

I changed my oil last night. I was surprised by it asking me "y" or "n" I didn't read the manual to reset it because I have a 2006 Accord and it was similar...but no Y or N option.

Thanks for your suggestions. I finally managed to get it to reset, but it seems like you need to be on the Service Due Soon display while holding the reset button, not the Oil Life display....:o

Guessing they changed it since when I press reset takes me to oil life display and then press and hold reset again to reset it.Mine even displays COde B for Oil change.
