Thanks, John01XX 01-06-2008, 06:32 PM Not on a ridge but I have been using the Blinder for over a year on my CBR1100XX Blackbird Motorcycle. Works great and has saved me more than a few times as I rarely ride at the speed limit when on the Bike. Install each receiver within 12 inches of the healights and the same height as the headlights. Hopes that makes some sense ! MM_Ridge 01-06-2008, 06:48 PM I'm glad to hear you've had good luck with the Blinder. I'm actually looking for some suggestions and details on the actual install to the Ridge. My first isse to resolve is where to run the wires through the firewall into the cabin. I know there is a wireless install kit available, but I'd prefer to be hard wired. I'm curious if you have a radar detector on your bike? I've thought about putting one on mine, but not sure where I'd mount it without fear of it falling off. John01XX 01-06-2008, 07:00 PM Yes I have a Radar detector mounted on a aluminum stem mount JPCuz 02-11-2009, 08:36 PM Not on my ridge but I have had it on two previous vehicles. I used the one made by escort and linked with my radar detector. Worked great and saved me from lots of tickets in the Mini... Then had another kid and the wife said the Mini was to small for two car seats and had to go. Got a new CRV (great car but not me) and had them installed on it. I think I only got shot once in two years in the CRV and it worked perfect. Just make sure they are installed near the head lights and have no obstructions and they should work fine. romeofrosty 02-11-2009, 11:36 PM Does anyone have a laser jammer installed on their Ridge? Thanks, Go ask your local P.D., I'm sure they would be glad to help!:D Aren't laser jammers illegal in Illinois? Humble Pie 02-12-2009, 07:45 AM Go ask your local P.D., I'm sure they would be glad to help!:D Aren't laser jammers illegal in Illinois? I was thinking the same thing....however, I have used a radar detector for years.....I use it a driving tool......not to get away with speeding......my pet peeve for the last few years is the dangers of cell phone use and texting while driving.....my company has strict rules concerning the use of company cells while driving (even hands free).....in my job, I deal with statistics and metrics......my research has convinced me without doubt that cellular use / texting while driving should be banned in all states......I know some will have different opinions on this and I am not for more government control, but this is a safety issue that affects us all and affects us in rising insurance costs.... TigerRidge 02-12-2009, 09:48 AM www.radardetector.net Crap tons of Laser Jammer installation information. Victorinox 02-12-2009, 10:06 AM I had Blinder installed on my Hayabusa for 2 years. I don`t know if it worked or not, seriously. In 15.000 miles of triple digits speeding I never had chance to test it. I guess our cops using more Ka band radars, not lasers. :D I always have my Escort on my motorcycle and it saved me hundreds of times. Laser Jammers illegal in Colorado, I decided not to use it anymore. I don`t speed in Ridgeline, I try to save some fuel, you know. | |
