Please respond to the poll so we can start to guage interest and get a "feel" for overall attendance. I realize it's early, but it will help.

It fell on the one busy weekend for me in all of June! Needless to say I am pissed and very sad now.
Curious.... for the 2007 meet, I lived in Baton Rouge, LA and drove to St.Louis, MO (660 miles @ 9h 53m)
This year, I live in Danbury, CT and to Marysville, the trip is 607 miles @ 9h 58m ... at least I'll save 100 miles (round trip) this time
From the google map (satellite), looks like Honda has some proving grounds on site... Ooooooooooo

Perhaps a repeat of your last August meet will ease the pain. :)
I put down maybe its not that I don't have intrest as many of you know I do.
With the 900+ mile trip last year to St. Louis its just that our family reunion falls the weekend after the meet. My sister says she might fly down to South Carolina for the reunion so I might not be going to it. If that is the case I would make the meet. It all depends on work situation & other things .
As time gets a little closer maybe will most likely change to yes.

800 miles one way for me and the fact I already have planned most of my vacation time and won't have to many extra days. Oh and nearly $400 in gas at today's prices. My desire is deeply there but the logistics may be difficult for me. I always say, don't count me out... :D

These 3 days are budget busters. Over $400 for 3 nights, 60 Gallons of fuel, meals, booze, incidentals. Something over $800. Big dent in the SS check!!:(
Just wait and see what happens. Disapointed that we have to have a suite hotel, all we need is a bed and bath!! BTW, the '05 Accord traded so good I just wrote a check for the difference. The '05 was an instant "Honda Certified Car". :)

Go over to the Element Owners Club Event Forums:
http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=90
there are a few threads discussing 'cheaper' accommodations for people with a tight budget.
We want as many ppl as possible being able to attend, so suggestions have been made for cheaper motels, or camping...
We would prefer that everyone stay with the group, and participate fully with all the 'Events', but we also don't want anyone saying too $$$, can't do it...
btw - we have 47 yes, and 26 maybe already - and 12 already booked Hotel rooms! :)

25 Year Old Honda,
I know that part of the fun is staying in the same hotel as everyone else, but wouldn't it be a possibility to find another place to stay that may be cheaper? This is one possibility, especially if it gets you to the meet at a lower cost...good luck!

Greetings all..
I am a new Ridgeline owner (Sep 07) and new to the whole truck scene. I'd like to attend the 2008 meet; however I'm having a hard time convincing my wife that this is more than a bunch of fellows getting together and looking at each others trucks (although I don't find anything wrong with that).
What takes place that is of interest to women who don't drool over trucks?
Also, unless I missed it, it would be helpful to have an idea when the planned events will begin and end so hopefully we can put together some travel plans.
Thanks

While the final itinerary is still very much a work-in-progress I think that your missus will find that it's going to be much more than a bunch of guys just looking at each other's trucks. Last year's event in St. Louis was my first and my wife was unable to attend, but she's planning to come this year and I think all of the wives who come will find it to be a fun event. There will be a visit (or two) to Honda facilities there in the Columbus area as well as some side trips to area attractions in addition to dinners at local restaurants (and what woman doesn't like to go out to dinner?). In St. Louis last year about 20% of the attendees brought their wives along and a number of them got together for some "women only" outings while the guys were obsessing about our trucks. There were even a few women who joined in for at least the early stages of our nightly parking lot gab fests/beer tastings.

Don't forget that there will also be (alot) of Element owners there as well this year!
I don't know the exact numbers but at least 1/3 of Element owners are women, and this will be our 4th Annual Meet. For many of us this is a time to catch up with old friends, and put a face to a usename that we've been chatting with for a long time.
As was said, there is usually a very full schedule of events, and really only the Show and Shine where we actually stand around and drool over each others vehicles (I just heard that a member with custom carbon fiber body panels is bringing his E).. Those not interested usually hang out at the pool...Evenings are usually a big social event, and I understand that we will be able to use the hotel Atrium for our 'cocktail' party...
The official event calender hasn't been posted yet, but Tom is supposed to have a website up for that sometime in the future - the hints we are getting is that events will be Friday, Saturday, and possibly Sunday...
