ONDLINKS and I have been discussing our travel plans for the National Meet. It appears we will be arriving in Canton, Oh. (F-Ball HoF) on Thursday June 19. We will travel into Marysville on Friday.

We would like to suggest an enroute rally point, at a yet to be named, Canton hotel for a very Mini-Meet. So if your from the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast regions and attending the National, please give some thought to meeting up with us in Canton for a c0cktail party.

We can all convoy into Marysville on Friday.

Sounds like a plan Joe. I would like to tour the football hall, have a nice dinner, spend the nite and make our way to the meet. Hope some more can join us.:)

I was thinking the same thing....I looked at the photo of the football HOF building and floor plan. It doesn't seem super large, but am sure there is plenty to see.

My possible travel plan:
Wed 6/18: drive to Canton, OH

Thu 6/19: Football HOF, then drive to the Motorcycle HOF
Arrive at ROC hotel as I know that the party starts on thursday night

Fri 6/20: ROC event

Sat 6/21 ROC event

Sun 6/22:
(A) drive home
OR
(B) drive to Pittsburgh, PA and attend the Pirates 1:30 pm game (~3 hr drive). drive to State College, PA after game.
Mon 6/23: get photos in front of Penn State stadium, drive home

*Football Hall of Fame (http://www.profootballhof.com/hall/info/index.html) - Canton, OH

*Motorcycle Hall of Fame (http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/) - Pickerington, OH (just southeast of Columbus)

*Pittsburgh Pirates (http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=pit&m=6&y=2008) - Home game: Sun 6/21 (v Toronto)

I would like to see the FHOF also. The convoy didn't work well in NJ/NY, but the traffic is probably worse there. Meeting in Canton and Marysville would work just fine.

Whatever you guys plan on doing, counts us in. Also remember, this is Ralph's 'rrider' neck of the woods. He was at the Altoona meet. He may have some suggestions. I'll get a hold of him and talk out some other options.

I don't know what hotel TMac is setting up, but the one we used two years was just "ok". They accommodated the ROC and all the trucks just fine, but the rooms left a little to be desired. :(

Greetings. I'd like to float the idea of a joint ROC EOC convoy to and/or from the National Event. It would make for some great photos.

....that is if you can all handle having a Kiwi in your midst.

Seems like the E-ROC Northeast/Mid-Atlantic regions will need to have a rally point.

It looks like a group of us East Coast guys (63Tbird, mdwalls, ONDLINKS and myself) will be heading into Canton, Oh. on Thursday. We plan to tour the Football Hall of Fame, then leave for Marysville later in the day.

For anyone traveling in on Thursday and driving near or thru Canton, we can use the Hall of Fame as a rally point and then all convoy in together. Arrival and departure time from the H of F can be discussed when everyone interested plans their route.

Canton is about an 1 1/2 hours from Marysville.

Canton is about an 1 1/2 hours from Marysville.Wow, you must be leaving REAL early to drive to Canton, do the HOF and still get to Marysville on Thursday night. (or did I mis-interpret?)

Traditionally, the ROC meet events occur all day Friday and Saturday. Since I know this, I'm driving to Canton on Wednesday (~8 hr drive for me) to be at the HOF on Thursday morning, then drive over to Marysville on Thursday afternoon, which is when people will start meeting up at the hotel. Which should give me time to wash my truck too! :) (don't forget to plan that in there as well)
Many beverages do give their lives on Thursday night at the meet.

No misinterpretation Keith, just not totally informed. ;)

We are leaving Wednesday, stopping at a Pa POI, spending the night there, leaving early Thursday for Canton and the H of F. I didn't mention it because I doubt many are leaving on Wednesday.

More specifically, we are initially meeting in Wellsboro, Pa. to see the Pa. Grand Canyon. Spending the night in Wellsboro and leaving early enough to make it to Canton for a tour of the H of F.

Anyone traveling through or near Wellsboro on their way to the National are most welcome to join us. :)

I'm an EOCer from Philadelphia planning on leaving early Friday for the meet. My plan is to take the PA Turnpike to Rt 70 into Ohio. I'm just trying to stay informed of any potential caravans. There are a couple possible EOCers taking that route too, but I'd be happy in a pack of Ridgelines as well.

I'll check back here every now and then to see if there's a plan. Thanks! PM me if there's any interest.

I know, I've already been guilt-tripped over at the EOC!

I know, I've already been guilt-tripped over at the EOC!It's true. You will miss out on a lot of neat things by missing a lot of friday's events. But it's understandable, people have other obligations, more than their Element/Ridgeline

I am all hyped about this road trip.
