Thanks for posting this update. These instructions can give us some idea what these parts look like since there don't seem to be many photos around.

I initially figured the tonneau cover would be too large for us to ship (after seeing the picture of it in the brochure I knew it would be too large) and then today Honda released the updated list of accessories and it isn't on the new list.

I fixed the link for the interior trim instructions.

Trevor,

Thanks for the update, but I wonder does that mean we have to wait for an after market Tonneau cover, or just that it will be late from Honda. Or maybe they will make it standard equipment ( yes I dream ).

At H&A site, they now have the picture for what is being called the fog light on the front bumper. I've been asking the dealership why didn't those come standard in the first place. To install these things, you have to cut 2 big old holes in the bumper. The picture shows the plastic insert cover as black, but you would hope they come in the different vehicle colors. I'm disappointed they are an after thought by Honda and not already molded in the bumper :(

I am also curious as to why certain accessories are not available as a factory option.

Take the rear seat DVD, for example. The install looks very complicated and time consuming. Just looking at the instructions from the CollegeHills Honda site show practically most of the interior being dismantled in some way to install this accessory. Seem like it would have been easier to offer this installed at the factory. If I am not mistaken, you could only get the RES DVD on the '05 Ody if you got it as a package with the Navi system from the factory.

I wonder if Honda deliberatly left out some of these accessories to 'test' the market. It is obvious that by adding them in to a trim level would have made that particular trim level very expensive. A high(er) price tag would have been excellent fodder for criticism. Maybe they are going to wait and see how much money people spend and on what accessories and decide if they should add them to an existing trim level or create a new one.

The fog light pic looks to have the chrome trim as well as the alternate grill, and the wheel image above has the fender flares. I do wounder how dent resistant the Metallic Interior Trim will be. the image at the top looks to be a fully loaded Ridgeline.

Was Honda thinking we're all ER MDs (from Florida) when they planned the install for the fog lights...? Installation extra...??
Us less-talented folks in California wish their new RT-L would include this useful feature, since we deal with fog alot, during the Valley-Fog season...

Good one, jab_od. It is bad enough that you have to pay extra for the foglights but the installation is not that simple. I know I don't have the stomach to cut holes into my bumpers to install them myself.

I am surprised that Honda didn't include the foglights, at least on the top 2 trim levels.

Ok, I've decided I'm going to install the fogs myself. I know the bumpers come pre-marked on the back for correct placement so long as I'm careful and don't over cut all should be well. When first looking at the directions I was overwhelmed but reviewing them again it doesn't seem so bad taking it step by step.

I'll certainly have the dealer install the backup camera & sensors as that's just too complicated and you get a warranty for like a year a believe on the install in the dealer does it.

So, does anyone have any idea what the toneau covers are going to cost? Pictures look interesting. My local dealer here in Ohio sez they have 4 new Ridgeline's arriving on Monday; all RTL's. Seems as though most dealers are getting the same type of units.

The only online dealer (collegehillshonda) that mentions them has a price for $1,074 but says they are "Available at a later date".

Honda marketing has just indicated that the toneau cover have been dropped. They had too many quality problems with them.

The other big question then, is will bring one out, and when? That is the one option that I really wanted....no make that needed.

Dang, that really changes things for me. I need covered storage in the back. I'm mean son of bitch, I can't get the darn truck now until there a cover or shell option. I guess those sloping bed sides really pose a problem.

Think I changed my mind on getting the camera. I just sticks out like a sore thumb on the tailgate. Be nice to have but I don't think I could live with that. Perhaps if it was body colored it might help, not sure. I'll just have to rely on good ol' mirrors and backup sensors.

I am kind of waffling on the camera as well. I am getting a black truck so colorwise it is not that big a deal. I wonder how easily it can be snatched from the tailgate.

I wonder why they didn't make a solution for the back-up camera like the Ody. It is nicely tucked away in the license plate area and receives lighting from the license plate lights. I guess the reverse lights will provide the lighting for the Ridgeline's camera.

Well, you'd think that getting the word from the horses mouth would get you an accurate detail on it, but it turns out the people in charge of the accessories that were here yesterday were incorrect  (maybe thats why its impossible to get a solid answer from most people there) The covers WILL be available. Our rep just called to tell us that Honda is supposed to start shipping them around the 2nd week of march.

so much for rushing to post the "hot new information"

Does anybody know if the tonneau cover is removable? If I get it installed, is there any easy way to remove it if I need to haul something too big to fit under the cover?

Trevor,

Thanks for posting the installatin of tonneau cover, that helps. Looks like you would need to remove 4 bolts to remove cover, thats not too bad, any idea how heavy it is?

Also are they color matched, in the only pictures I have seen, it is blue to match the body, is this a fact?

And at last we know how to lock the tailgate, you but a tonneau cover.

Did anyone notice the "rock bracket" listed in parts.

I will say it another install that does not look easy, I wonder the last steps are to check the driver window operation? I don't think I saw any electrical work in teh 13 pages, so how could it get broken working in the bed.

Man, I'm having seconds thoughts about the cover. I read the install doc, while not easy by any means, I think I could handle it but that's not my issue. Never owning one before perhaps they are all like this but sure appears the back half doesn't fold at all. That would make getting small stuff that slide near the cab side difficult to take out. Taking it all of requires removing bolts and so forth. I kinda invisioned the cover could kinda slide/lock into place and could be removed easily. I'm an impulse shopper so I fear of going to home depot and buying a large item on the spot that won't fit unless I take the whole cover off, which I thought I could do and lay it on the bed and put stuff on top of it. Guess I'm dreaming too much.

Unless I'm mistaken how this thing works it looks like I'll be buying a cap/shell when snugtop or someone else finally makes one.

Not sure on the weight or color. I haven't seen one in person yet. I'm not sure if it is something we'll have here to look at later as it is too large for us to ship.

Vertrkr,

Buy the cargo net , and you should be able to attach it to the Tonneau cover rail, which would stop stuff from sliding to the front of the box.

Vertrkr, I am with you, this isn't nearly as useful as it could be. If the back half is fixed, and you can only fold back the front half, without taking all the bolts out, this limits the use of the bed. I need to have a large area to secure stuff, so I am going to have to rethink this.

Thanks for posting the instructions. At least we can see how the cover works (or not).
