Photos from the January 2008 Utah mini-meet welcoming Bliss53 from NH

I'm trying to get the photos posted to SmugMug, to not use up bandwidth here on the ROC. I've run into technical difficulties (my captions disappeared) and I've sent a plea for help. They're be viewable soon, I hope.

I want to thank Peter and his family for giving us a great reason to get together today. I had a grand time. :D I did what I could tonight (sent with a different uploader) but the captions still do not appear. I hope to hear from one of the developers tomorrow. Worst case, I'll have to go in one by one and retype the captions. It's too late for me to worry about it now.

Should we all curtail posting photos on the ROC to reduce this bandwidth issue?

I'm still waiting for suggestions from SmugMug about what I can do to get my metadata to transfer to their site. :(

Another perk for using a photo hosting site.... you can post/share photos easily over & over again... no more uploading.

I posted in that thread only because it is a silly photo dump thread that we can count on seeing daily attachments for each day over the next several months. I'm not desperate for space yet, but I was just asking for cooperation there specifically.

Pictures of meets and Ridgelines contribute to the value of the forum.

I'm successfully exporting to SmugMug right now with metadata intact, so the photos will be available shortly - if nothing else goes wrong.

I'm trying to master attaching images from SmugMug. Looks like I mastered that skill.

Peter and Nate did OK. It's combat parking once the snow piles appear in parking lots. Lines mean nothing. If you note, our spot was split with half a stall taken by the pile of snow. When we pulled in, the Jeep beside us had just left room for one vehicle and we took it.

See how the scenery disappears into white? Not the best photo shooting day. This wraps my coverage of the meet. We all had different places to go so we said our goodbyes. We want to plan a drive in better weather.

Great photos. Looked like everyone had a great time. I know I loved the Ogden area when I lived there from 1980-84. Made a lot of good friends there.

Excellent Pics. Wish I was there. Utah is so beautiful especially in the winter. Nice gifts, nice stuff to sell on ROC Merch ;)

Thanks for sharing the photos. A meet doesn't have to be big to have a lot of fun. We're going to have to put Jeremiah's on our itinerary for the next trip through Utah.

I'd like to take you up on that Truckin'. We are planning to go back to Michigan for Dad's 100th birthday in April, but we aren't sure at this point whether we will drive or fly.
