A few of us over at the EOC have started a camping thread (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42015). It was mentioned that some of the ROCers might be interested in camping rather than staying in hotels. This is my setup:

Recently I upgraded to this because I heard that Ridgeline's can't tow anything heavy ;-)

My E can move it in and out of its storage space but I'm not sure about those Ridgelines...maybe we can have a tow-off?

Anyway, who here is interested in camping? Hocking Hills is hands down the best park in the state but it would be an hour and a half drive. Within 30 minutes there are two state parks, a KOA, and some private campgrounds. Of course if the Ridgeline's need help towing you can bring tents or I can send some of the E's over to help you guys out.

Wow - them's fightin' words. when you get your trailer stuck, wonder if we Ridger's will help... OF COURSE WE WILL! (for a beer...)

Did you check out Pasttime Park in Plain Cit (http://www.plain-city.com/pastimepark.php)y? Nice place - probably the closest to Marysville/Dublin.

btw: The County Chamber has a nice listing (http://www.unioncounty.org/qualityOfLife/attractionsAndEvents.asp?output=update&LocalCatID=42&LevelID=5) of the restaurants etc around. One of the best is just south of Plain City - Der Dutchman Restaurant. (http://www.dhgroup.com/en/pc/pc-restaurant.php)

We are looking at Hideaway Haven Recreation Park in Zanesfield - it's supposed to be about 5 miles from Marysville - but you live there, so what do you think?

We are just waiting on them to confirm details with us, but it's still January, so I guess they are not in a hurry to start the season...

Tim

that looks like a MUCH nicer place! From Google Earth, I've snapped a pic of where the campground is vs. Marysville. 5 min? Hmmm - 5 min from HONDA. The Honda test track is the large oval.

I'm coming from Canada - that's why I asked

I'm just glad to be in the right State!

No news yet...
Apparently the owners have gone away for the winter, and aren't taking reservations yet....

I'll post as soon as I know anything firm...

I got hold of a very nice lady this morning, and have sent her an email. She will be sending me details shortly!

Stay tuned!

I hate to say it Dub, But I have pulled two, THAT"S TWO (2) toasters out of the mud this winter at my office because they ran off the road in the snow. Wheels deep in snow and mud!, but they where customers of mine, so I had to help them out. Our landlord doesn't know the meaning of a SnowPlow!

Sorry to break it to you, but like Ridgeln said, "them's fight'in words your talking there" so be careful. lol lol lol :D :D :D Just kidding, just kidding!!!, but I did have to pull two of the out of the snow banks this winter.

Sorry for the delay ppl!
Apparently my ISP changed providers, and I lost some emails a couple of weeks ago:mad:

I spoke to Toynua at the campground today, and she's resending the info to me in the morning...

The basic info i have right now is that we can get the group site for $15 /night /each

Anyone who wants to camp but doesn't want to be at the group site can still get a regular campsite at the group rate...

I'll have details tomorrow, and will call her to work out the obvious questions (what about water/power hookups etc), and should have a post up by tomorrow :D

Thanks for your patience!

etc etc... & campground maps with site numbers would help to reserve sites...

I'll bet those misfits will be in the "group" campground

Thank for all your diligence...

I'm interested in camping as well. Looking forward to seeing info on the campground. It's a short trip from Fort Wayne.

HERE IT IS!

We have made arrangements with this campground, Hideaway Haven, which is about 2.5 miles from East Liberty, in Zanesfield Ohio.
Home (http://www.hideawayhavenrecreationalpark.com/index.html)

They are offering us a discounted rate of $15 per night, based upon a 5 day booking...
You can either join us at a group site, or get your own site away from the rest of us...
Just tell them you are with the Honda Group in June.

I know, not alot, but sometimes simple is best. If you have specific questions, I'm sure they can answer them when you book...

They are a new campground, they did not have site maps as there sites may be changing in the future. The lady on the phone said they are setting aside half the campround for Honda owners.

Maybe put in the reservation as Honda Group/Ridgeline so they can group us together when we get there.
