I know the Northeast Group has discussed heading here at one time or another and this seems like the perfect time to do it.
*Cedar Point Amusement Park (http://www.cedarpoint.com/) - Sandusky, OH

Cedar Point is only ~2 hours north of Columbus so we can get there before lunch and stay until closing. Their hours are 10am-10pm.

So, who's up for this side trip on the way home? We can find a cheap hotel/motel near the park.

Over on the EOC we are planning on heading up to spend Sunday at Cedar Point on our way home. We'd then all drive home Monday morning. If we can get at least 15 people we can get a Group Rate on this. Here's the link to the thread (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42054) on the EOC for those interested. :)

I am somewhat unsure of my attendance to the 2008 meet - but if I go, I would be ALL FOR hitting the CP on Sunday the 22....

So much fun, and the what better way to kill the time in line than chatting with fellow Honda enthusiasts.

Cedar Point is awesome!!! I try to make it at least once a year. If you love roller coasters and have never been there this is a must (if your schedule lets you). CP has 17 rollers coasters:eek:

I was pretty worn out after the last two meets at the end because of the late nights and the copious amounts of cider I drank. I couldn't imagine trying to make it up to Cedar Point after the meet was over. I'd be way too tired.

I guess I can't hang with the big dogs anymore. :( :(

Since you live in Columbus, how long is the drive to CP? Is 2 hours reasonable for a Sunday morning?

I know this wasn't directed to me...But I live just outside of Columbus too.

The drive to Cedar Point will more than likely take a little closer to 2 1/2 hours from the Embassy Suite in Dublin. My guess is it's Probably about 125 miles.

Thanks. I figured 2-2.5 hours would be reasonable. I had some people telling me far longer driving times.

I arranged for the Group Sales with Cedar Point just now. The group name will be EOC, I am down as the group leader and contact person. We need 15 or more people to arrive at the Group Sales Office together on Sunday June 22. The cost will be $32/ticket. If we don't get 15 or more people then we will each pay the regular price of $42.95/ticket.

When you check-in at registration please make sure to find me and I will get you onto a list.

I won't be able to make it. I have to drive to Chicago that Sunday.:( I did make it there a couple weeks ago and loved it. If you like rollers coasters this is the mecca.

I added a list of people that say they will be going to Cedar Point Sunday to the first post. Anyone else like to join us? We're up to 10 people going, we need at least 5 more to get the Group Discount. Come on, we'll have lots of fun. http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

So far only DogBoneRTL has said they can make it from the ROC... let's get more ROC members joining us! :-)

Larry, I understand there is a detour on the way to Sandusky from Columbus.
I will be making that trip this weekend, or Monday morning. My wife is taking the week off, and her boss has a Condo on the lake, close to CP. He offered to let us stay in his Condo for a couple days, and has given us the fastest route there and around the detour...I'll try to make a point to meet you and give you the directions at the ROC/EOC meet. Mapquest says 2hrs 15 mins. He says he can make it in less than 2 hours. We'll see.

Will do, as soon as I get the details. My wife has the directions written down, and has them at work with her.

I thought after making the drive personally..I could give you better and more detailed info.

Not a single one. :( Though Ralph did provide us with some kick@$$ directions to avoid all of the construction! :)

We had 9 EOC members driving 4 Elements and 1 PT Cruiser (they flew in from CA so we cut them some slack) go and spend the day there. We had an awesome time.

Here is a thread on our day (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47268) there on the EOC.
