Does not rate with the RL; no trunk, rear wheel drive, towing capacity is only 3,500#, load rating is 1,100# etc.

I seriously doubt that the production version will look as sharp plus I'd bet you won't touch it for anything under 35k-40k. I'll stick to my RL.

I was thinking this myself when I first saw this.....the haters will justify this simply because of it foreign...I MEAN..American roots....

I agree. I think the 47.5" wide bed is funny.
Is it that hard to find an extra 1/2" so that a 4x8 sheet of plywood will lay flat?
The bed is also 5" shorter.

Looks like they would have put it on the Arcadia platform for the FWD/AWD and a V-6 with 16/22 MPG.

Nice looking, but is seems to be more of Car based truck-a 4 door El Camino.

I was thinking something like that, and that IMHO it is one FUGLY ride. If the production model looks that "good," then we'll have something that will take some of the ridicule away from the Ridgeline's appearance.

It's only a concept so I'm sure it would be a bit more mellowed out by production time. Honestly, I'm not all that put off by it's looks. I'm talking cosmetics only.
I see problems with the tailgate arrangement as well as the shortened windows. My boss owns an FJ Crusier and the short windows create bad blinds spots.

The H3 has similar blind spots due to its small windows too...
I think the only FJ that won't have blind spots is the late 2008 FJ Cruiser Convertible model with its soft top. :D
The tailgate is odd because of it's shape and that could hinder the loading of items.
As for the bed load capacity, it is the SAME as the Ridgeline's bed rating (not including the 300 pounds in the trunk). Just check your manual to see.

By Jove, I think i see an inbed trunk or do my eyes decieve me. those flaps on the tailgate will never see the light of day on a production model which means the whole rear will be redesigned. I doubt that low roof line will make it either. which means it should look remarkably like .........I can't think of the name :D.

I would not buy a GMC, the quality is less and they cost more than Honda. Why should I subsidize their inefficiency?

But where would you put your drinks & thermos when you're tailgating? Heaven knows, you don't want to put it on any other flat surface on the gate... someone may spill your beer! ;) ;)

Is that what that cylindrical thing is? I thought it was some kind of pin to hold the tailgate on when closed.

How would anyone reach into the bed to get their stuff from the floor storage? You'll need to be a 7' tall basketball player to reach.

One thing I do like is all of the tie downs that thing has in the bed, and in the bed bottom too.
If you look at that photo, you also see those tie-down handles appear to be trunk like handles with an upward arrow.
Hmmm? Two trunk-like spaces? How would you get to the one closest to the cab? CRAWL in and out of the bed? Or would that be for the "convenient" spare tire storage?

When I first saw this, I laughed. First, I can appreciate the irony: Chevy lovers aren't going to be able to respond very easily when they roll out this "not a real truck," are they?
I have to completely agree, it looks like a Dodge Magnum-based El Camino. But my first reaction was that they took a sawzall to a GMC Envoy.
But I can't understand how completely off the mark they've been about the truck bed. To cut it so close - a half inch less than necessary - they have certainly snubbed the 'real truck' crowd, haven't they?
