Its built by Nissan so are they just reskinning a Frontier the way they do a Ford Ranger to make it a Mazda B Series pickup ?

The article pretty much says that the Suzuki will be based on the Frontier.

We can't be snooty, though, because a Passport was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo with a Honda motor & tranny & Isuzu "skinned" the 1st generation Odyssey. (If memory serves, the inimitable & unlamented Chevy LUV was an Isuzu...)

Ugh. This gives me only one degree of separation between Chevrolet & Honda. I think I need to go take dramamine...

Except it is based off of a Nissan Frontier...

what's the problem with that? The Frontier is a capable truck. If Suzuki does their typical scheming it'll be priced a few thousand less than the competitors and give a better warranty.

So what about when Hyundai comes out with their truck? :) They do have a capable V8 powerplant (see new Genesis car)

Believe it or not I had one of those back in the late '70s. Kinda fun to drive, but you could almost watch the damn thing rust out.
