First time poster. 1325 miles on my '08 RTS and lovin' it.
Installed a Hidden Hitch after-market and am setting about to put the wiring harness in place. About to order a Prodigy brake controller. Do I need an additional harness from Prodigy/whomever or does the OEM trailer light harness (with the 7- & 4- pin adapter thingy) do the trick? Some folks talk about an additional hardness and it's not clear if I need anything else or not.

Yes and no. You can either wire the universal pigtail that comes with the Prodigy to the Honda pigtail or you can buy the Honda adapter with your Prodigy and plug in directly.

When the dealer installed my hitch, I was given a trailer break "sub harness". It plugs directly into an outlet under the steering wheel area that had a piece of blue tape over it. The sub harness has 4 wires coming from it that wire directly to your brake controller. It was painless and easy once I found the correct place to plug in the sub harness. Apparently, my dealer said that the sub harness can't be bought as a separate piece, only as part of the whole towing kit.......Maybe he doesn't know what he is talking about.

When I purchased my Ridgeline and had the dealer install my Hitch I figured that they would include all components. The sub harness wasn't there. I had to go back to the dealer and one of the mechanics told me they usually don't include it because the Ridgeline doesn't tow enough. Anyway for the future Ridgeline owners make sure you get that harness from the begining. I was able to get one from the mechanic but others may not be so lucky. Also may want to ask for the bumper plugs from the tags holder just in case you want to get a bull bar or something that relocates the tag.
