Looks like Kia wants in on the action too.

Often imitated, never duplicated.

I can't see how this competes with a Ridgeline at all. There's no back seat to speak of.

Their time is coming. Both Korean car companies are on the move and have vastly improved the build quality over the past five years while GM goes the opposite direction. ;)

I'm still pessimistic when its comes to the quality factor in Korean vehicles, but they have definetly come a long way and right now if I had to choose between Korean or GM I think I'd be looking at KIA. I'm sure their designers have a few RL's and they'll do their best to imitate it, backseat and all.

Actually had someone argue with me about the Ridgeline this weekend.....he stated that the Avalance was the first.....I replied the first at what? They are not even comparable....the Avalance is a Ridgeline wannabe.....

Interesting! If Kia can put together a truck as well as their current minivan, they may be on to something. I wonder if Hyundai will sell this truck as well. Prior to my Ridgeline, I seriously considered a Kia minivan. Good ride, good value, nice features, but questions about their "quality" kept me from going that direction.... boy am I glad I settled on a Ridgeline! :D

We thought the same thing. We bought a loaded 2007 Kia Minivan and saved a ton of money compared with the Toyota, Nissan or Honda options. That is until we had one problem after another. We had problems with the power rear hatch, power sliding doors and problems with the ignition system. The ignition problem was especially bad, because it took the dealer service people three weeks to figure it out. After they "fixed it" the keyless entry didn't work. A few weeks after the ignition problem was fixed, it started acting up again. That was the last straw and we traded it in on an 07 Odyssey and couldn't be happier. We really liked the Kia until the problems started but we like the Honda a lot more. YMMV.

Although I understand that Kia's quality has improved, several years back my sister-in-law had a Kia SUV that had similar electrical issues -- if the dealer fixed on thing, something else went out, like a cascade efffect. Whether it's a matter of poor factory QA or a dire lack of training at the dealer service level, it was enough for me NEVER to consider a Kia vehicle...
