This poll is specifically for those definitely attending the upcoming Sedona/Grand Canyon Meet on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13. It is also to get an idea how many are in your party so I can begin looking at restaurants to accomodate us. So even though you indicated you are coming, please reply to this thread!

I will continue posting on the original thread (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19476) with other information and if you have comments, suggestions or questions, that would be a good location as well.

Let me know which days you will be here!

See you at the 'most scenic meet' ever!!

As of this morning, based on 'posts', emails and personal conversations, the
count of confirmed attendees is sitting at 17!!.

I have sent emails out to another 16 potential attendees. Out of those, 6 have indicated that they were 'possible'. There are still others that indicated they might based on the old poll.

So we should have a fantastic turnout.

As an added incentive....

5SDude has donated a set of door sills that will be given away to a lucky ROC member at the meet.(Thanks Ron!) So if you want a chance at winning this fine custom accessory, you must be present on Saturday to win!

There are some other give aways as well...but you gotta be here!

So those sitting on the fence - time to wax the RL, make a hotel reservation and come on to beautiful Sedona!!!:D

Hey Kev!!!! And my fellow Ridgie Owners! Soooo, I have set aside April 12 and 13 to come join the awesome meet! I am super excited I have never attended one before... I am a little sad my Ridgie got a bump on her bumper BUT that just gives her character until I am able to fix her up lol But yes I have been super super busy with finishing up remainder of my classes before graduation on MAY 9TH!!!! And as well working major overtime as my work calls for it due to the oh so awesome econmy failing lately sooo I am very sorry it took me this long to respond! I would love nothing more but a GET AWAY from the phoenix gross air and non stared skies while enjoying an evening out with the most bad ass trucks known to man AKA The Ridge Line and the awesome owners, who might I add have an AWESOME sense of taste and style for picking nothing but the best of vehicles lol... ;)

With that I must go tis midnight and I am EXHAUSTED running around all day trying to fix this phone of mine... and trying to get my passport reknewed lol what a pain!

I will be there for saturday and plan on attending sunday as well I will certainly try to be there friday night but may not be able to ... I will have one guest most likely but if that should change I will let you know :)

Thanks again!

Tony, I will definitely get in touch with you and see if we are able to ride alongside from LA or maybe meet up somewhere in arizona as I do want to get there early as well.

Wow I hope I win the sills...need more accessories on my truck LOL. Ron, I know i have been bugging you even before I got to meet you in person - but would there be a chance that you would be making some dress bars again before Sedona?

Hi Gang!

If we make it into town before everyone chows down on Friday, we’ll try our best to make it for dinner. Is everyone gonna eat at Nic’s again? That place has the killer Salmon Plate Y’all!!!

The Billet door sills we are presenting at this year’s meet & greets are the classic old school pre-production models with the Ridgeline logo on the front and plain slots in the rear in satin brushed finish with the ultra thick clear coating.

Chris, I don’t think I will have time to get a set of dress bars fabricated before Sedona as we’ve got a ton of other preparations to accomplish before the trip but you will be able to see and check out the one and only prototypes mounted on Twintym’s Ridgeline once we all get to the meet.

Nic's was great and gets my vote again too, but we about topped out the capacity of that back room last year. It sounds like there will be more of us this year.

Do you have another idea for us, Kevin?

Ron, is Nic coming this year?

Kanji, you're in luck with three of us staying up by the airport, surely someone will be able to give you a ride to dinner and then back to catch your plane out of town. :D

We will discuss it at the Meet. Rocky (Steve) has hosted the past two years and I am sure we can do it again in late fall.

Send me your email and I will add you to the AZ ROC list. Only correspondence will be meets.

Not so funny that you would say that, as there was a family killed when they crashed while trying to land at the Sedona Airport last year while we had our meet. There is danger with winds, more than some airports, because it is perched on top of a mesa. Yes, be sure to keep in contact with the airport about conditions as you approach your landing!

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER

o Red Rock Pass – A Red Rock Pass is required when you park and hike. It is $5 and can be bought at any Circle K or Giant gas station in the Sedona area, as well as some pay stations. It is good for the day purchased. Although we will be with our trucks, if you choose to venture off, you may want to make this small investment. We will not need one for the location of the truck meet or Montezuma Well.

o Gas Prices - Currently around $3.25 in and around Sedona. Giant gas stations, Arco (AM/PM) and Circle K are the lowest prices, so don’t pay more than their price.
o http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gassta...?zip=&src=Netx
§ The zip code for Sedona is 86336

o Radios – Don’t forget to bring your hand held radios.
Channel 6.0

o CONSTRUCTION!! – Hwy. 179 is under major construction, and some has recently started where Hwy. 179 meets Hwy. 89A. Allow yourself extra time (the guys from CA won’t even consider this a problem in comparison from where they come from!).
o If you are coming in to Sedona from the Phoenix or points south, avoid coming into Sedona on I-17 (exit 298). Take exit #287 (Camp Verde exit), turn left onto westbound Hwy. 260 for about 15 miles into Cottonwood. Turn right onto Hwy. 89A to Sedona (about 16 miles). The meet location will be a left at the first traffic light as you come into Sedona.

Sorry for the 'allignment' issues. I have problems attaching Word documents to this site. If anyone wants, I can email it to you. Just email me for a copy and I will send it to you.

If you don't have my cell #, email me and I will get it to you.

Thanks Kevin for the alternate construction route.

Mapquest shows YOUR exact route if you use the Sedona Culural Park (250 Cultural Park Place) as your destination point instead of Sedona 86336.

Driving Directions from Corona, CA to 250 Cultural Park Pl, Sedona, AZ (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&un=m&cl=EN&qq=hltF3hzNT9tNhURP0HLlhh9UYBmHRqyBceg4Gkon14D8uew Lk7pjHQ%253d%253d&ct=NA&rsres=1&1y=US&1ffi=&1l=&1g=&1pl=&1v=&1n=&1pn=&1a=&1c=Corona&1s=Ca&1z=&2y=US&2ffi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&2pn=&2a=250+Cultural+Park+Pl&2c=Sedona&2s=AZ&2z=86336&r=f)

Now I got to see what my Navi says.

We are starting to get more excited today.
Got two suitcases down from storage today and a small Igloo ice chest for cold drinks along the way.

BUT, I'm still working on my Income Taxes and can't get them finished until Wednesday.

And my A1 maintenance came on a few days ago.
It says 10% left on the oil change.

Don't know if I should just put another 800 + miles on it and do it when I get back. I run Mobil 1 synthetic. Might be ok. What you think?

Cant beleive I have 6,831 miles on it since the last MM reminder!
I thought that was high so I checked my records and it's accurate.

And I need tire rotation too!

Running short on time but will make it one way or the other.

I might wait but it just goes against my old hard to break habits of changing oil on schedule. But that was in the days of dino oil only.

Ive' read all the oil threads and agree that it probably wont hurt a thing.

Now I'm thinking, how many more miles is 10% going to get me?
10% of what.

I haven't heard a thing on caravaning yet either.

We do that alot when family camping but we all meet pretty close to each other.

Meeting that far away may be probllematic unless you can be pretty sure of meeting on time.

No one likes waiting when thier all excited and have such a long drive.

Update,
All my planning is still a go, have not received a go yet from work  , but there is a new project in the horizon , that's probably why? I should know more in a Day or so hopefully by thursday morning.

This sucks  , I usually get a notice the next day if i get the weekend off, but work is work. I'm still in as for now.

Hey guys I'm new to this forum and new to the ridgeline. This is actually my dad's account as I haven't made one yet!

Anyways, we are out of so cal and would love to come up to this meet. My dad is a private pilot so we would be flying into Sedona airport on saturday morning.

We're looking to hitch a ride to to experience the versatility of the ridgeline in the various situations described in your meet agenda. We are willing to sponsor gas coffee and lunch for our research.

Looking for some AZ ROC-ers to extend some hospitality to some so-cal boys

thanks a bunch!

I know I posted this in the past but dont see it anywhere. I am solo the intire meet so you are more than welcome. I have a lift and will be doing some of the more extreme trails let me know

Sorry I have been really out of touch as it has been very busy at work and my body has not been cooperating as it should. There are a lot of things that I have not been able to do, especially getting my RL ready, some little stuff to give to all members attending the meet (sorry to [u know who u are] if I can't work on my little giveaway project) and a lot more...

Anyways, I might not make an early departure from LA as work impedes it - sorry Tony but I have your cel # just in case there are changes. I will definitely be at the pre-meet dinner...trust on this one...even if it is the pre-meet after dinner dinner get together LOL. Kevin, would you be so kind as to PM me your cel number as well.

So yeah...wasn't expecting getting swamped this week so i do apologize if I got out of touch...but definitely you will see me there...

catch you guys later!

Hey Jason! I was going to pick them up at the airport. However, I just talked to Steve on the phone and his dad had to cancel for business stuff. :( If it changes, I'm sure they will post back, but for now, it looks like they will not be making this meet. I'm sure the SoCal guys will see them at one of the local meets soon! :)

I have been assigned into a project that i was hoping, that it will not happen till end of april, but as for my back up, no, he is taking his wife to Death Valley for the weekend. Unfortunately, i'm working with other project manager to see if they can cover, i will know more tomorrow morning. It will give me time to cancel all my reservations if this falls forward.

FYI, for those of you from Calif that are using the OEM Navi to navigate to the above places in Kevins list........

The Navi will not take any of the above addresses that have the street names 89A or Hwy179 etc.

When you get to input "Street Name" type in AZ-89A-ALT and AZ-179

I added 8 of the addresses and events and found that it is much easier to find them later if you add a digit 1-2-3-4 - 8 etc. in front of thier name in the "Edit Name" input area.

That way they all show up at the top of the "Address Book" and you don't have to scroll down alphabetically to find them by name if they are mixed in with any other saved routes you may have.

I added the day and time of each event in the "Edit Name" input which is nice - don't need the have or look at a paper copy of the itinerary.

I hope this might help someone, I had a heck of a time trying to input 89A and 179 in the "Street Name" area.

According to my weather report it's not going to get so hot: 69º today and 75º tomorrow, Sunday we'll be at a higher elevation so it won't be quite as hot as predicted for here. PERFECT!

So, here is a recap (without pics) of the 4th Annual Sedona Meet - Sedona and Grand Canyon:

We had the traditional pre-meet dinner on Friday, April 11th at the Red Rock Barbeque on Hwy. 179 in Sedona. It was the first time I'd eaten there since they changed owners. The food was very good and reasonable.

We had 9 RLs in attendance:

JozRidge (Joe and Joyce)
Truckin' and Big Guy
Sedonaaz (Jason)
Toobuku (Tony)
Twintym (Dan, Pam, Caitlin, Chelsea)
Ahab (Stan and Val)
Arizona Ridgeliner ! (Mike and his buddy Chad)
Waders (Wade and Gail)
Meanmachine19 (Kevin, Kris, Erin and Dylan)

At dinner, we raffled off two free car washes at the Arizona Auto Wash and a $20 Gift Certificate for Red Rock Barbeque. In addition, they gave us 15% off the bill.

On Saturday morning, some met for breakfast, while others met up at the Arizona Auto Wash. $5 off certificates were handed out for those that did not get them the night before.

The weather started off windy, but it warmed up and by mid day the winds died down. We had a high in the low to mid 70's (depending on whose RL temp gauge you looked at!).

We gathered at the Sedona Cultural Park and several RLs were there before me! One by one, they trickled in, with PODO being the 20th to show up at the meet location. After intros, checking out rides and photos, we held a raffle for various prizes. Some of the raffled prizes came from ROC sponsors H&A Accessories, Burtman Industries, Fig's Props and Rack&Road. Other local businesses donated prizes as well, including gift certificates for lunch at Picazzo's, Piper PCs certificates, Wyndham Resort 3 day/2night stay at one of their southwest resorts and Safari Helicopter Tours, to name a few. Also donating items were Prescott Honda, Right Honda of Scottsdale and Earnhardt Honda of Phoenix. Also, contributions from ROC members 5SDude and Twintym's wife were awarded to winners. Pretty much, everyone got a little something. Jesse (jmomo) gave up his prize (from Piper PC) since he works with computers and another member could win. Thanks Jesse!

Those in attendance were: TuckerNason (Tucker),Arizona Ridgeliner (Mike), Ahab (Stan), Bruce RTL (Bruce), Waders (Wade), Sedonaaz (Jason), Voices In My Head (Ron),Toobuku (Tony), Twintym (Dan), Podo (Chris),
5sDude (Ron), MGuzman (Miguel),Truckin/Bigguy (Pam/Harold), The Cute One (Veronique), JozRidge (Joe), Rocky (Steve), jmomo (Jesse), DaTruk (Christopher), Prescott Honda (Sarah)

The raffle put us a little behind schedule. But, we made it Picazzo's for lunch with a group of 42. On the way to lunch, another RL was near our caravan, so Truckin' invited them to join us. And the did! (after lunch).

After lunch, we headed to the Sedona Airport where Voices In My Head was going to take his winning helicopter ride. He chose Bruce RTL to ride with him, then graciously let Bruce's Dad (Temple) go in his place. Thanks, Ron! Two other members (Arizona Ridgeliner ! and Sedonaaz) went as well at the discounted rate given to the ROC for the day.

We were joined by newcomers Sue and Scott, the recently relocated locals. They made our total go up to 21! They were enthusiastic about the ROC and I expect they will join the ROC soon! They stayed with us the rest of the day.

After the helicopter ride, we trekked to Montezuma Well to view Sinagua Indian ruins going back over 600 years. It's a must see for anyone that has never been there. Unfortunately, we had to say farewell to Bruce RTL and Voices In My Head.

Then, off roading! We drove across the Verde Valley and hit some back roads from Clarkdale to Sedona. It was very dusty and we were afraid we might lose some people. We actually did, as some chose to ditch out to return to their hotels to freshen up for dinner. The rest of us got our trucks extremely dirty and watched Jason attempt some very rough roads. Unfortunately, daylight was burning and we had to skip some of the more difficult trails. We were able to stop for a few pics along the way for those that have never been to Red Rock Country.

Dinner was back at the Airport Restaurant where the wind picked up and the desert temps dropped quickly. No complaints about dinner and we all had time to catch up on the day's events. We wrapped it up around 8:45 and for some, it was an early day to get ready for.

Sunday morning, a select few were able to make it to breakfast at Cafe Jose's for 6 a.m. It took us a little longer to get our act together and by the time we were ready, we left Sedona around 7:45 a.m., with 11 Ridgelines caravaning to the Grand Canyon. We took the route into the east entrance. Along the way, we noticeably had a yellow pick-up tagging along....full of Ridgeline envy, I'm sure :p

We made it to the park a little after 10 a.m. and started hitting a few of the overlooks. Lots of pics and memories for those that saw this awesome natural wonder for the first time. The weather was great, with temps in the mid 60's most of the day and clear skies. Not as windy, either!

We ended up at the Grand Canyon Village for lunch, and after relaxing, catching up on the weekend's events, we decided to call it a day at 3 p.m. since many had a long trip ahead of them. We took our last group photo courtesy of a stranger that helped take a zillion pics with everyone's camera!

We were all in consensus....it's time for a National Meet to come out West! Our numbers are strong and devotion to the ROC and RLs even stronger! 21 RLs is about as many as the first ever National Meet. And, there are few places with more natural scenic beauty than Sedona and the Grand Canyon. You could spend a week here in Arizona and be amazed at how much there is to do, and how many different things you will see. There is a lot of western history to explore, and it's not far from a fun place like Las Vegas or Laughlin (NV).

There will be a 5th Annual Sedona Meet. It may not be as grandiose as this year's event, but it will be just as fun! It's all about the people behind the wheel, as mentioned by one attendee. A date for next year will be announced in the not-too-distant future! So, do like many did last year....book early!

I look forward to seeing everyone's pics. And, of course, thanks to all for attending and making this the most memorable Sedona Meet yet!

Nice photos, Jason. I'm anxious to see more. However, I'd like to suggest this thread and the Fourth Annual Sedona meet thread get locked. Neither has a title that makes me think to look here for what happened at the meet. These two threads served their purpose in getting ready for the meet. It makes more sense to have all our post-meet stories and photos either in a new thread or add them to the thread below:

I agree that the Roll call thread can be closed since it was for attendance purposes. However, the other thread should remain open. That is the thread that got the whole thing started, and don't see why we don't finish with it.

Truckin', if you choose to start a new thread to share your experiences on your trip, that is perfectly fine. However, it does add to the confusion and those wanting to see how the meet went can check both threads. I started with the 4th Annual Meet thread, and that's where I would like to keep things. But I will let everyone else make their own choice where to post.
