I recently drove from the Bay Area to Visalia to go fishing, and drove 428 miles on one tank of gas before the warning light came on. I could have driven at least another 40, but that would be pushing it and would be on vapors by then. I used cruise control set at 68 mph. That calculated to about 23 mpg, that is a personal best for the ridge. The thing is I have 20" rims, k&n intake, throttle body spacer, and a custom exhaust with magnaflow muffler. What are others able to squeeze out of a full tank of gas. Oh yeah and it cost me $72 to fill up.

I get about 18 highway before the tonneau cover install. I'm not sure what I get now, I haven't had a chance to figure it out.

How many gallons is your fillup? Did you completely top it off or just until it clicked off?

My best tank was 488.3 miles and 25.66 mpg. No mods except a tonneau cover. I averaged 23.05 mpg for the 6,100 mile trip.

I hope I can get 23+ with the tonneau cover.....:D

that's some impressive mileage webwader, it would be nice to get 400+ out of every tank I drove.

If I can keep, my foot off the accelerator, I have gotten a touch over 500 miles on a tank. But realize also this is putting every last drop in up to the filler neck, using premium and driving conservatively... Even then, I kept a spare five gallon tank full in the bed, just in case. Just wondered how far I could "push it".

So would I but you only get that kind of mileage on sustained freeway driving. I could have hit the 500 mile mark but I chickened out because I didn't know how far the next gas station was. It only took 19.03 gallons.

So the EPA estimated highway mileage is 20 and you guys are getting 26+? Wow, what speed are you running on the highway?

I had cruise control set at 68. I'm thrilled with my trip mileage because it usually sux driving in the city of hills and thrills.

I was driving 65 MPH with the cruise on. The tank with the great mileage was from Rock Springs, WY to just west of North Platte, NE. From Rock Springs to Cheyenne, we had a nice tail wind. We drove around Cheyenne that night and the next morning our tail wind was gone.

I normally avg. between 13 and 15 mpg mixed driving, so I'm thrilled I avgeraged about 23 mpg on this trip. I've been told my mileage will worsen with the 20 inch wheels.

If your twenties diameter isn't the same as stock, it's possible you're not getting the mileage you think you are.

good observation shovelhd, but what if his overall diameter is larger than stock, than isn't his odometer mileage conservative?

I used a tire calculator before I bought the 20's the stock circumference is 92.8 inches and I bought 275/45 r20 with a circumference of 93.4 inches. that's 0.6 in. When my speedo reads 60 mph I'm actually traveling 60.4 mph. Is there that much of a difference?
