SheDevil 04-01-2008, 12:28 PM Hi everyone....I'm SheDevil, and I'm a former Element owner. I was in an accident about 2 weeks ago and was forced to replace my E....well, they aren't out there like they use to be and the deals on the Ridgeline were too good to pass up. I pulled the trigger and here I am!! I'm an OC female...about 35 and a complete spaz when it comes to the outdoors. I'm an avid mountainbiker...road cyclist...kayaker...camper...surfer and equestrian, so the Ridgeline fit my life even better than the E to be honest. I love my new truck (Black RTX) and I hope to meet some of you soon.
If there are any mtber's on here looking to ride...come join us on www.socaltrailriders.org too. We have something new every day!!!!

Welcome SheDevil. I also went from an E to a Ridgeline. I had to get rid of the E because my dog was tearing up the inside and coating the inside with hair. Not so good when you have to occasionally drive a client around  I ended up putting a LEER cap on my Ridge to put my dogs in the back. I put my yakima rack on top of the cap to put my bikes and luggage. Couldn't be happier :D I race road bikes (cat 3) in SoCal and have had 7 bikes on my Ridgeline going out to the Valley of the Sun stage race (me on the left):

Nice mods!!!! I'm a speshy fanatic(nice s-works in the shot)....I had 7 bikes in my E if you can believe that one!! I ride a Tarmac...but I've spent a lot of time in the dirt lately (fsr stumpy). This weekend we have a 60 person camping trip in Idyllwild....so I'm bringing 4 bikes. I'll probably leave the shell out of the modding but otherwise I'm sure it will be loaded with other goodies!!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!!
Tcape 04-01-2008, 07:43 PM Welcome, SheDevil! I do love the Element, but the Ridgeline is much more practical for someone who's involved in the activities you're doing. Nothing like the RL for practicality. But you already know that, don't you. Congrats on your very intelligent purchase. We'll look forward to your posts! Ride on!....horse types and Ridgeline types. :D

Hi there! Congrats on picking the correct color Ridge and a sunny O.C. welcome to this awesome group of owners! We’re sure you’ll love both the truck and your new ROC-Head family…………
We’re too old now to even remember when we’d roost each other flying down snow summit in the summer sun on a bicycle but if you ever throw yer leg over one with a motor in it, we ride dirt every Sunday out in the SoCal desert! We sure hope to meet you at our next get together in Sedona AZ on the 12th. If not then at our next SoCal meet & greets! ROC-On!
meanmachine19 04-01-2008, 10:04 PM Welcome to the ROC and congrats on making the right move to a great Honda vehicle! :p
X-Brawn 04-02-2008, 12:02 AM Well, welcome aboard and have fun! I, too, enjoy being outdoors and smells and sights.
weather_wrangler 04-02-2008, 12:13 AM Hi everyone....I'm SheDevil, and I'm a former Element owner. I am assuming you weren't hurt in the car crash (or anybody else for that matter), and welcome to this forum.
I'm an ex-Element-er, myself, and the Ridgeline is tons more useful for me.
The Element was pretty good, the Ridgeline is terrific!
It's a truck loaded with pleasant surprises, unlike some other vehicles I've had that kept letting down time after time.
SheDevil 04-02-2008, 08:53 AM Well... at 35 I think my life varies a lot. I loved the E....until I put on heels and tried to valet park it. Also the towing and ruggedness of the E were not there. I couldn't complain otherwise thats for sure.... My Ridgeline is certainly a natural progression.
I think my initial mods will be.... roof rails...just for a nice touch and for the surfboards. Running boards to wash the roof with....(I'm 6 feet, it's not a height issue) Window tint....it's black and it looks nice, not to mention I may upgrade my stereo and it keeps that from being so obvious. I might change the grill too.... I have the RTX honeycomb one. Otherwise it's a great looking truck.
Any newbie advice??? What NOT to do....or what to look out for?
Oh and I got an airbag burn from the crash....otherwise I'm fine THANKS :)
brich 04-02-2008, 11:44 AM Stay away from any threads discussing wrinkles behind the cab area. JK:D
I'm newbie too, but the wrinkle thread is a standing joke.
But you really should be sitting when reading that one... ;)
Advice to a newbie? Sure.
1 - Don't take posts that tell you about our fabulous "SEARCH" feature to serious.
2 - If someone's first post is about a problem, step back slowly and keep your head down.
3 - Don't ask if synthetic oil is best.
4 - Your gas mileage is your own. It may be like others, it may be nothing like others. But it is yours.
5 - Smilies are a great way to make sure your points are taken in the right context. I always use them...:)
6 - Avoid giving dating tips. Most of our members are already married or WAY to old to be dating. All others are obnoxiously in love with our trucks so dating tips are pointless...
7 - Lastly, just have fun. That's what this place is all about. Or at least it should be... :D
SheDevil 04-02-2008, 01:56 PM 1 - I was on the Element Owners club website...I know....the search feature is more of a black hole.
2 - If someone's first post is about a problem, step back slowly and keep your head down. **duly noted**
3 - Don't ask if synthetic oil is best. **I'm a Mobil 1 patient**
4 - Your gas mileage is your own. It may be like others, it may be nothing like others. But it is yours. **Just me and my debit card will know the truth**
5 - Smilies are a great way to make sure your points are taken in the right context. I always use them...:) **youbetcha**:p
6 - Avoid giving dating tips. Most of our members are already married or WAY to old to be dating. All others are obnoxiously in love with our trucks so dating tips are pointless... **The only tip I'll offer is Sea Biscuit in the 7th**
7 - Lastly, just have fun. That's what this place is all about. Or at least it should be... :D ** **
Toobuku 04-02-2008, 02:04 PM Hi She-Devil, Welcome To The ROC! You missed our SoCal annual spring meet by about 2 weeks. We hold it every year the week of St Patricks Day. 6 of us are headed to Sedona a week from Friday for their Annual Spring Meet. Hope to see you at the next one.

Dnick 04-12-2008, 12:18 AM Welcome SheDevil,
I'm pretty much an OC native, now displaced to Carlsbad - North SD County. 'Grew up in Los Alamitos (LosAl High 1970), lived in Seal Beach, Downey, Anaheim, Buena Park, Riverside (first house), Placentia, LaMirada, and Mission Viejo (loved that place - had to move to Rhode Island for 4 years with job), and now back to Carlsbad. We still get to OC plenty visiting family. It's also a nice drive when we get together with SoCal ROC group. You'll love it. We sometimes join meets with the Element Owners Club as well (if you didn't already know that).
Anyway, welcome aboard . . . I've been a part-timer lately, but am getting back into it (just retired). Wish I still had your energy! Have fun with your new toy!
Dnick
