Satellite malfunction....Danger Will Robinson, Danger!
Actually, your XM subscription may have expired. If that's the case, you won't be able to receive XM at all. My suggestion is to call XM and check on your subscription. If it's expired, they'll want you to renew it for about $144 per year. DON'T do it! LOTS of ROC members have gotten the renewal for $77 per year. If in fact your subscription has expired, call 800-732-6360 and tell them you want the $77 per year deal. You may have to try several times, but the deal can be had. Lots of members have done this.
Hope you get it all straightened out! And best of luck there in the North Country!

I see you have a 2006 RTL. If you don't have a sunroof, you don't have the factory installed XM. The RTL was available without a sunroof in 2006 . I belive all 2007 and 2008 RTL's are standard with SR and XM.
The XM tuner went bad in my Ridgeline, and was replaced under warranty. Even though I couldn't get any music or any other stations, the preview staions worked, and could still get the XM radio code on channel one.
Being as you are in Canada...I don't know if any of this pertains to your situation.

Hey Ridge, my RL was bought in the US as well. The dealer had activated the 3 month trial for me and when it came time to renew, I called the US toll free number. I don't know what the differences are between XM US and XM Can, but I wanted the US feed. I had to give a US postal address and zip code, I think I used the dealers. Renewed it for $77 for a year.

You didn't say whether or not you have a sunroof..If not, you don't have XM.
If you do, it is possible the previous owner removed the XM tuner. If you do have the XM tuner, you should be able to get channel one whether or not you subscribe to the service.
The main question is do you have a sunroof??

The 2006 RTL was available with and without a sunroof..Factory installed XM only came in the RTL with SR. All others are considered XM ready, meaning you need to add the XM tuner and antenna. But the stereo head units do have the XM button. Your truck won't have the XM antenna on the roof back by the third brake light either. Dead give away of not having factory installed XM.
My wife has a 2007 Civic EX, and the stereo has the XM button, but it doesn't have the XM tuner. The Civic only came with XM if you got NAVI. The dealer wanted to install XM for her at the price of $700...She passed!
I guess it is just the way Honda packaged some options.
