soultrain 05-07-2008, 10:16 AM Filled up last night at Costco in Tacoma, Wash..20 gallons @ $3.59 a gallon= $72 and some change..I was on E with warning light on for quite a while. If gas hits $4.00 a gallon this summer I will need to make a decision on whether to keep this fine vehicle...Those Mini Coopers are looking better to me every day. It would be a sad day when I trade my Ridge for a Mini though..
rakapur 05-07-2008, 10:19 AM fill up at half a tank, it won't seem as bad
Chris C 05-07-2008, 10:20 AM I feel your pain...............but I've decided I can do without many things, but not my new Ridge!!!!! I'll be doing less "extra" things as fuel prices go up!
RidgeLI 05-07-2008, 10:57 AM You got pain.....I have to fill up the Ridge' today after work, light on and a hair above "E".
I expect to pay approx. $3.90 to $4 a gallon here in Long Island, NY. Looking at an $80 fill up.....OUCH!
I am taking donations from my fellow ROC members.......

rakapur 05-07-2008, 11:07 AM We Need To Do Something, We Should Try To Get 1 Day Of No One Driving At All In The U.s., (except Emergency Cars), If Nothin Else It Would Just Look Kinda Cool
chisoxjim 05-07-2008, 11:13 AM Damn, try 3 fill-ups a week @ $69/each.
GeNeRaL 05-07-2008, 11:33 AM Everyone has gas pains. I just deal with it and do the best I can with it.
I know if I needed to fill up three times a week I would not be driving this vehicle. That much is true!
If and when it gets unbearable and not worth the cost of fuel, I will regrettably try to sell, to which no one will want a gas hog, lol

Yeah, I was there yesterday too Soultrain, but not in the Ridge. The one (Costco) near the Mall right? Those fill ups kill me, which is why I parked the Ridge and drive it maybe once a week. 70 miles a day times at least 5 days a week was hurting the old wallet!
Remember although the Mini might gain some MPG's, the saving will be offset by having to fill up with premium gas.

and the insurance cause you get in an accident with that thing your gone
captain morgan 05-07-2008, 02:09 PM I'm fortunate that my drive only burns about a half a tank a week...JUST topped it off 15 minutes ago, little over a half left and cost me $35 at $3.52 / gal.
I will give up my Ridgie when they pry my cold dead fingers off the wheel....

Solution: Move here for a month, pay our prices, then go back home and all will be honky dory. ;)
~$50 for a half tank.
25 Year Honda Owner 05-07-2008, 04:49 PM Damn, try 3 fill-ups a week @ $69/each.
Thanks Jim, at over $200 per week i can sympathize with you, I damn sure have no complaints since I hold my RL and Accord to $150 or less per month combined!!!
AmazonRidge 05-07-2008, 04:52 PM Prices here went from $3.35 this morning to $3.75 at noon.....
xridgelinex 05-07-2008, 05:08 PM Hover here in the North east it has been in the $3.70's for a while.... It's up to $3.79....
It's still more economical, especially in the time department, to drive then to partake mass transit...

Our mass transit is almost unusable....in Schenectady, I spotted 3.81:eek: As far as CDTA goes, one of my students took the bus from Scotia to Crossgates. It took him over 2 hours to get there:confused:

That would be nice, thats why I am considering a commuter car, still have not decided. I just cant imagine driving a small car on the commute each day, do I trade safety, and comfort for gas mileage. I'm not sure.
How I see it, I spend about $30 a day commuting for gas. SInce my wife and I commute together that saves money, we also dont get Starbucks, or eat lunch out every day like some do, and we dont have to pay for parking , etc, so I am not really doing that bad. Plus I wouldnt trade my house, & my property for anything I have seen closer to work.
I just dont think I want to change my lifestyle to save a few $$.
RidgeInMaine 05-08-2008, 06:49 AM Try this (http://www.gas-x.com/)fine product:
beerkat 05-08-2008, 07:07 AM We all should be thankful that we are driving a Ridgeline and not a F150 or some other full size pickup.
pdunn 05-08-2008, 07:16 AM I know what you mean about the price. I paid $3.79 yesterday, but I also got almost 26mpg coming home from MO. As trucks go I don't think you'll find a better one. I use mine for work and have put 75k plus on it since Aug '06 when I bought it new.
ToyTruck 05-08-2008, 07:44 AM I love to read all the bitching about gas prices.........that's what we get for not providing our own fuel. NIMBY syndrome. Wise up America-write your senators and congressmen and get drilling. OPEC can charge whatever they want-it's THEIR oil, not ours. Oh, if you don't like this message, don't get mad at me........you can thank your local tree huggers and politicians like Ted Kennedy. He doesn't want to have to look at wind power generators from his "castle".
Filled up last night at Costco in Tacoma, Wash..20 gallons @ $3.59 a gallon= $72 and some change.Wow, that's not good. But I have it real bad as I have to drive to work and back, both ways uphill. But it is worth it as when I get home, I can enjoy a nice frosty beer.
Divotfixer 05-08-2008, 08:05 AM Even if you can't get behind drilling "at home", think about that if we can make fuel from corn why are we *paying* farmers not to grow crops??
BTW - I saw a 76 station here in Mount Vernon that is selling premium for $4.09. Car I had before the RL required premium - glad I don't have it anymore!

Ain't it the truth though.
shovelhd 05-08-2008, 08:08 AM Don't even get me started on Ted Kennedy and the "beautiful people" on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
Why is this thread in Problems and Issues? There's no issue with the Ridgeline gas mileage. It is what it is.
Ain't it the truth though.Get to school young man, else I'm calling the truant officer

With your daily drive and the number of 18 wheelers you encounter daily you really need to ask yourself if you want to be in such a small vehicle, especially since your wife is riding with you.
I would compare it to growing up in elementary school. If you were the smallest kid in class, sooner or later you were going to get in a confrontation and most likely you would be the one getting the azz whiping.

I agree, I-80 has alot of truck traffic.
Angie1313 05-08-2008, 10:48 AM the cost of gas here in the midwest isnt much better...I've been doing this and that to conserve gas but I'm not getting rid of my ridgeline for a hybrid.
