A little too close to home for you? I hope all is well for you and yours!

always freaks me out to see trees snapped by wind

the sheer force of nature

although it was only a matter of time for those tall hemlocks to come down after cutting everything else around them....

Missed us by a mile. The good thing is the early Sunday morning found the streets deserted but I shiver at the thought. Lots of property damage but surprisingly little human injury.

I've never experienced a tornado first hand, nor have I ever seen the destruction caused by one other than the news and the weather channel. The aftermath that's been reported is just ....well, scary.

Artee, I'm glad you, your family and neighbors were spared.

In the early '70's I was in a Beech Queen Air coming from Laviona, MI to Tullahoma, TN during the "day of a hundred tornandos" I was really glad to get my feet back on the ground. Very scary expeience!!

Glad you were safe and didn't suffer any damage.

The same day there were several funnel clouds in central Ohio. One touched down just for a second or two , but it did little damage. There was also one spotted less than a mile from my home. Luckily it didn't touch down.

I also live in Macon and that was a heck of a tornado. That's my buddies Honda Place, his son's Nissan place next door really took the damage. I was about 3 miles from the edge of that thing. I'm 28, lived in Macon my whole life, and that was the worst thing I've seen yet other than the flood of '94.
