OEM Antenna Amplifier Question

Can someone tell me what the power input (blue wire) is supposed to be on the OEM Antenna Amplifier.

I noticed that there are two power levels going into the OEM Radio, +8V and +12V, both ignition on powered. I tapped it onto the +12V. I just want to make sure I'm not overpowering it.

Reason I did this, I'm using an HD Radio that activates through the XM button, but the Antenna Amplifier is only on if you are on AM/FM. So I had to get constant power to the Antenna Amplifier. The HD Radio sounds amazing, when it's locked in. Problem is that it locks in and out on local channels which is very annoying.

Thanks,
Zach

HD Radio will switch between HD and analog as the signal level comes and goes. It's just the way it is. You can override it by switching it to HD only but then it will cut out.

+12V is what you want. Your problem is the crappy OEM antenna. Check my install thread for what I did to help.

Right. That's what I was afraid of. Oh well. Another project for another day.

Thanks!
