Ridgeln, our Lmentalmastiff is a very nice lady, right? OK she owns an E but nobody is perfect. It was so nice talking to you today. Se you tomorrow and I hope we will have another small combo meet in Colmbus again soon.

There is ChrisM's Ridgie in ridgeln's album. But looks like noone took any pictures of the Accord (why should we?). It has been a great day!!!

That sure is a bunch shiny Ridgelines! :D
Thanks for the photo's! Will be checking back often! Sure wish I could have made the 8 hour drive!:(
Have lots of fun and everyone stay safe!
I have a lot of photos/videos (of the caravans) but no time to load them just yet as there is too much going on.
The factory tour... two words: BAD AZZ! I nearly got run over by a robot, but cool anyway. Our tour guide was great, something like 20+ years there and knew the answers to all of our (mostly my) questions.
A lot of the ROC'rs gathered for dinner last night at an amazing place (der Dutchman). Enjoying the Woodchuck (as expected). Off to see some crazy demos today at the proving grounds. I may get photos posted tomorrow night.

The tall pix: When I had my back surgery, I had them install pneumatic extenders - so, not only do I have a new spine, I've got a BIONIC one!
Ok, so, I'll quit dreaming: Here's the trick: Mono pod with my 10-24 wide angle on the Rebel XTi - set the timer, push trigger, extend, wait (and wait...) - VOILA!
The overhead road shots: Ladder strapped in the bed of my truck - hold on tight!
ok, so that was a dream as well... From the bridge of my home road which goes over rt 33. :) (I cheat!) Karl was with me (Liz stayed in their truck) - we got a very nice visit from a Marysville Police Officer who was curious as to what we were doing. Should have gotten his pic! D'OH! I'll be doing this again in about an hour. :D

WHEW! those of you who didn't make it, WOW! Gary Flint and all the folks at Honda R&D and TRC put on an amazing day for us!
Only one person was allowed to take a camera into the facility with special permission - me :D - So, I tried to make all my Ridgeline brethren (and sisterlen? I'd hate to be called sexist) proud - and took over 1400 pictures
It will take me a while to get through these, but I will post at least a couple here very soon. Time for a shower and a print job for tonight, then off to Dave & Busters for the banquet.

Good choice to let you be the official photog. I am anxious to see your photos, but don't stress over it. You keep having fun this weekend and work on them when it's over. I know how it is to have thousands to get through. It will be worth the wait for all of us who couldn't attend.
WHEW! those of you who didn't make it, WOW! Gary Flint and all the folks at Honda R&D and TRC put on an amazing day for us!No doubt Frank. The water canal run, the ridiculous grade test-off with Tacoma -v- Ridge. You know who won! It makes it hard for me to believe that 4x4 Tacoma owners actually buy such a weak-ass performer where it should be excelling. The test was: drive up the very steep hill, come to a stop then continue up the hill on the simulated "ice" surface. (water running over slick ceramic tile) The Ridgeline even did it backwards! The drifter Element is pretty damn cool. The highlight of my day was that, they took a lot of owners for a performance run with 1,000 lbs in the bed. CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (except for Boo, who was topping out around 40 mph :)).
Basically the track was set up in a twisty loop, where the differing radius corners were displayed, one with a load shifting move, and we were driven at varying speeds (60-70+ mph) at much sharper curves than any highway ramp. On my run, I would swear that two wheels were barely touching the ground. After each person got back from their run, the smiles on their faces was bigger than if they won the lotto.
For the the trip over today, the Ridges gathered and caravaned over together. I am pretty sure I got some good videos of a couple of the drive-bys. Frank also got everyone at an overpass.
Again, photos maybe tomorrow night.
Off to meet up with everyone and chat with the Honda engineers as they are joining us for the rest of the evening.
This has been a great day!!!!! Ridgeln, you really are a great guy:) We will be waiting for your pictures.

Hey Ya'll,
I'm the one who needed the jump and I tell ya, it couldn't have come from a better group of people. Oh wait, yeah it could, it could have come from my fellow E-ple. At least the fella that offered the help had ORANAGE jumper cables!
Oh, by the way, how many of you did it take to finally get my E started? ;) Weren't there like 4 or 5 of ya working on it? :p J/K
Hey, in all reality, those who made it this weekend and I had the opportunity to meet were AMAZING! You guys have a pretty awesome vehicle in your own right and I'm taking my Husband this weekend to check one out. *please don't tell my fella E-ples* I was really super impressed!

Hanged out with few ROCers (they know who they are) and they are awsom.

On the way to the festivities this morning, we decided not to meet at the group hotel and left from home. Perfectly timed, we merged into the Element convoy. They should have just stayed out of my way....

I am very sorry that you can not take the E for what it is: a very nice roomy car. Not everyone needs a big truck (maybe problems with a small driveway). Oh well, we will survive, we were mooore anyway!

Man that was quite a convoy!! Surprised the video quality was that sharp considering your dark windshield tint! Seat belt chime came through loud and clear!;) Thanks for posting. Got any pics from WPAB and the museum?
Thanks for posting. Got any pics from WPAB and the museum?I have more videos of "just Ridgelines convoy", just haven't posted them to YouTube yet. LOTS of photos from the air museum and of the meet people & places... so much to sift through, it takes a bit of time.

Understand!! What is your comparison between the WPAB museum and the Navy museum at Pensacola?
Understand!! What is your comparison between the WPAB museum and the Navy museum at Pensacola?WPAB is MUCH bigger and better as they have the museum laid out by era. We spent 6-7 hrs there, I read about 5-10% of the material and still didn't get to go on the bus tour or watch any IMAX. It's just enormous. Now the Pensacola museum is very nice but they don't have multiple huge bombers/cargo planes indoors, a B2 stealth bomber, an F-117, presidential planes, etc. etc. etc.
If people rate the Pensacola museum a 10, then the WPAB museum is a 17. To do it all, plan on at least 2 FULL days!!!

Wow!! Guess I will have to check it out. Missed the best opportunity I will ever have!!:( I even enjoy the Air Force Armament Lab at Eglin. They even have a B-52 on static display along with many more. Also most all armaments and stores for aircraft!

Greetings my fellow ROC-heads!
Ok - so, I am now on Cape Cod and enjoying vacation (went whale watching yesterday to relax - yippee!). Today my older son goes to camp for 3.5 weeks (Camp Wingate Kirkland: A Cape Cod Summer Camp for Boys and Girls (http://www.campwk.com) - awesome place on the Cape for those of you w/ kids).
"But enough chit-chat, Frank - WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!?!?!?!?!?!"
Ok - I am in the process of uploading lots of them (I don't even want to count!)
Check out:
I have broken them down into Ridgelines, Elements, Element_D, and Misc. Some photos may be double-posted, but that's ok.
I have made them so you can download the ones you want. YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO SELL THESE FILES OR ANY PRINTS OF FILES. (sorry, that's just a CYA on my part to let you dl these).
I am in the works of making some posters using the images to commemorate this phenomenal experience.
It will probably take me the best part of today to get all pics uploaded, but I have a number of pics already up - so start looking!

Could that be the person who put the Buick port holes on the Ridge we saw last week? They might be related to David Dunbar Buick.

K757,
I just want know why you haven't put a rear wing spoiler on that beautiful Accord? Sorry to break your bubble, but the new Civics will be rolling around in that nice "polished metal metallic" color in 2009.
Also, are you still having concerns about the transmission in your Accord? Seems like a few people are having the same issues.
Thanks for the pics of the meet--it sounds like I really missed something spectacular.

PPS: Maybe in the future you can hold the ROC get together in Knoxville, TN, seeing as the two meets were at the same time.
