Smokin Ace 06-11-2008, 01:26 PM So last night I got out of work late due to a big project we are working on. I decide I am going to get a Jack in the Box burger on my way home. So I get in the drive through and order. I get a phone call as I am moving around to pay and get the food. I am on the phone and the guy asks for my money. I give him the money for the burger and I kind of glance over and he is starting at me a bit weird. I thought maybe it was the tunes that were pretty loud so I turned them down. Still one the phone when he hands the change out. As I hung up I notice he is kind of hanging out the window a bit and still looking at me funny. Now by funny it was like he was trying to lean out and whisper in my ear or something. So at this point I am a bit irritated and it has been a 13+ hour day at work already and 2 hrs of commuting. I was ready to lose it and ask this kid what the problem is... So he final gives me the bag with my burger and as I go to pull away the kid pretty much now drooling and hanging out the window. By hanging out I mean his head is out and when I looked back from puting my bag down his head was breaking the window plain of the truck. He then said " that is one pimp truck dude ". I admit I laughed a little and said thanks and I pulled out. Just thought some people might get a laugh out of this. :)
VoicesInMyHead 06-11-2008, 01:29 PM LOL! Good thing for him you didn't hit the auto-up window switch while putting your burger down! :D
RustyH 06-11-2008, 01:29 PM Despite these trucks being around for over two years now, its amazing how many people still don't know that Honda makes a pickup, and a pretty hot one at that.

Actually over 3 years now!!;)
Mortech-RL2008 06-11-2008, 01:57 PM I had a similar experience at the Golf course yesterday... I arrived at the course for a golf tournament and the guy greeting the golfers as we drove in asked me where my clubs were- I motioned with my hand and said in the back... he leaned over the side of the cargo area and said- Where? (LOL!) I then got out of the truck and opened the back gate and lifted the "secret" compartment trunk... You should have seen the look on the guy's face! He called over 3 other guys from the greeting area to show them... and before you know it I was holding up traffic and giving a full out presentation of my new truck! Needless to say, I felt very proud of my decision to buy the Ridge a few weeks ago!
Smokin Ace 06-11-2008, 02:33 PM LOL it is great when this happens :)
Dominator 06-11-2008, 03:20 PM When I was younger and drove sports cars it was usually the girls that would druel, now I've got guys drueling and asking me about it at gas stations.
Not exactly what I'd call a perk of having this truck.
Smokin Ace 06-11-2008, 03:29 PM Well I have a quick tid bit for you. I was looking for a new vehicle really wanted a truck. Wife was anti truck. So I took her to look at a Pilot (last 08 they had good deal on it to get it gone). So drove it said it was a tank and to large for her. She then eyed up the Ridgeline (I was excited but played it cool). She asked the sales guy about it a bit then asked if she could drive it (I am so excited I can barley hold still by now). She drove it and loved it. 2 days later I was rolling out in my new truck. So women love them too. Or at least mine does and well as we all know she is the only one that matters to me..... and she is the boss so... LMAO:D

Since we needed something to tow our trailer to replace our Expedition, I knew a truck was in the works, but what really sold my wife (besides it being a Honda) was the Ultra Low Emmissions Vehicle sticker on the drivers window. Being a confirmed tree hugger, she couldn't say no.
TheCuteOne 06-11-2008, 06:48 PM LMAO!!! That's awesome... lol
Mortech-RL2008 06-11-2008, 06:54 PM Girls or should I say women like them too! That's exactly why guys are asking about them at the gas station/ drive through windows, golf course etc...
When I told my wife I was planning on getting the Ridge- her eyes lit up and said "Only if I get to drive it too!" I agreed of course, because as Smokin Ace already pointed out- she's the boss (Or at least I let her think she is... for obvious reasons! LOL!);)

If you wanna get the women drooling again, all ya gotta do is use the trunk for stowing your groceries in the grocery store lot. Man! Do I... I mean my Ridge...:o get the looks then!
franc944 06-11-2008, 07:21 PM I was at the Taco Bell drive through recently.
The kid asked me "Why the bed was slanted?"
He then asked if it got 300 miles to the gallon like his 2002 Dodge Dakota - he was serious.
I said you mean per tank? He said no per gallon, since he got his exhaust and intake done he said he gets 300 miles to the gallon and thinks the ridgeline might get more then that. . .
I nodded and smiled wished him the best with his kool-dakota and left.
shovelhd 06-11-2008, 07:21 PM I guess I'm lucky. When it comes to her buying a car, I do all of the research and wheeling and dealing. I test drive it, then she checks it out. If it's a go, I do the final deal and she signs the papers. I enjoy the process, and she hates it.

Very well stated :D
BruceRTL 06-12-2008, 08:57 AM While I have gotten complements on the overall looks (of the truck :) ), I still get the most, "looks of amazement" when I open the trunk. One of the added values to this truck (beside this web site) is the constant gawking it gets. It's a real ham! Sometimes I go out of my way to put something in the trunk just so I can remove the item later when I have an audience.
Maybe "ham" should be the official Honda "meet". (subtle pun intended)
