So I know there has been a ton of talk on here about XM radio stuff but I have not really seem this questions answered. Are you suppose to get 3 free months when you buy the RL or is at some dealers offering it to get people into the vehicle (dealer specific)? I just got a RL about a month ago and I didn’t get a free trial or anything. So does anyone know for sure? I know if you buy a Dodge/Jeep product you get one year free. Thanks

Only models with XM from the factory would come with the free trial. Correct me if i am wrong but i don't believe that the RTS came with factory XM. It was a dealer installed accessory on all models but the RTL.

You should get a free trial (3 months?). But let me add that once you subscribe, CAVEAT EMPTOR. ((XM)) ranks in my book among the lowest of the low when it comes to renewals & service after the sale.

My truck has the upgraded radio with the 6 disc and XM ready. There is a xm button there but no service :(. Sounds like most people got it free for 3 months is that a Honda thing or a dealer thing?

That is correct. Your RTS is XM ready. You still have to buy the XM Radio Kit from Honda.
Honda Ridgeline Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories, made by Honda for your Honda. (http://www.handa-accessories.com/ridgeline.html)
The RTL model comes standard with XM Satelite Radio.
The RTL model gets the 3 month free subscription when purchase it.
The RTS comes with the XM READY that requires additional hardware+subscription.

"XM Ready" is analogous to "Tow Ready" on all but the RTX models.

I've said this on several of the XM threads, but it bears repeating....
1. DON'T subscribe to XM without checking on the "$77 deal." DO NOT pay the standard $144 annual fee. You can easily get an annual subscription for $77. And some ROC members have gotten this for 3 years in a row.
2. DON'T give XM your credit card number to use for the subscription price. Get them to send you a bill, and pay by check. If you give them your credit card number, they'll bill you AUTOMATICALLY for the FULL AMOUNT ($144) when your subscription expires. And they won't even contact you when doing so.
Buyer Beware! I love XM, but they'll screw you every chance they get.

I read that post in my quest to find out if they come with XM. Thanks for all the great info. :)
