My husband and I just signed up for the 100 mile ride on the Eastern shore on October 4th. Is anyone from this forum going?

Are we talking about peddle power biking or V-Twin power?

Twin power alright - your 2 legs. Here is more info:

Sea Gull Century (http://www.seagullcentury.org)

This is directly from the website:
"[T]he Sea Gull Century is a “Best Bicycling in America” event that has been named among the top 10 century rides in the nation by Bicycling magazine. The Ride Magazine has called the century “one of the prettiest big rides in America.” The Washington Post has named it “by far the most popular local century” in the Maryland-Delaware-Virginia region. ... Some 6,000 cyclists come—some of them year after year—because of the terrain, the challenge, the food, the entertainment, the chance to explore a new area and the hundreds of friendly volunteers who make the Sea Gull Century happen.

More moons ago than I want to admit to, I did the MS 150 (http://www.ms150.org/ms150/) and another 1.5 century ride in the same year here in Texas.

When I was in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA, we used to ride to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel entrance and then hitch hike across with our bikes. Somebody in a van or pick-up would always stop. Once across we would ride our bikes for over 100 miles up the bay side. Camp out and do the return trip the next day. Beautifil country and flat enough to make a "century" possible. You will have a great time.

Would love to join you, but my 55 year old legs would need some training. The wife and I do 25 mile trips regularly, but we stick mostly to converted rail trails in the North East and we aren't carring too much gear.

Have a safe trip with a tail wind!
