derek77 08-06-2008, 03:50 PM I was looking for a bug guard to match my black truck. This is as close as you can get without getting one painted. The deflector isn't the same color black, so it isn't an exact match, but it's very close, and cheaper than a painted one. Also, you can't see through the plastic, it is a solid color. I apologize for one picture, but my digital camera started showing me snow after this pic - I had planned to post more....hope my camera isn't broke:(
Pizza Man 08-06-2008, 04:04 PM I was talking with the owner of a white RL last week. He had a similar, if not the same, deflector in white. Looked great and so does yours, derek77. :)
kevint12 08-06-2008, 09:01 PM That looks great.
The Weathertech bug deflector is an almost dead on match for the black a well. It's so dark you really can't tell.
derek77 08-06-2008, 09:49 PM In bright sunlight you can tell that it's slightly a different color, but it still looks great. I paid $60.95 shipped, and looks just like the painted ones, no drill installation.
gasman57 08-06-2008, 11:03 PM Hey Guys, I`m brand new to this forum and I`m the proud owner of a 2008 White Ridgeline,,The RTX model....the color is awesome with the gray rims. Before I picked up my baby last night I did already have some goodies to install. I had bought a nice bug deflector by VentShade and had one on my trade-in...........2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. Never had a problem with the installation but on my Ridgeline the plastic fasteners SUCK and pull out. I need some metal ones. Has any one had this same problem??? Thanks:D :D
derek77 08-06-2008, 11:23 PM I had to pull out my fasteners too. I just tried to pull them out very gently. Had more of a problem with the holes in the rubber piece stretching than with the plastic fasteners. The fasteners snapped back in like they were supposed to, but they did seem fragile.

I had the same problem installing mine, the fasteners pulled out easily. I finally just installed the things and didnt worry about it because with the hood closed they won't be going anywhere.
gasman57 09-02-2008, 12:53 AM Hey Guys, Followup on the Bug Deflector issue: I ended up buying the Honda Bug Deflector from the dealer and installed it with no problem...It was a little more involved with these weird brackets but it WAS MADE for a Ridgeline. The aftermarket bug deflector is on E-Bay as we speak.;)
cmusemeche 09-08-2008, 01:06 PM Regarding the OEM deflector. I've wondered since the installation how effective this deflector was. This past weekend I had a chance to drive from Houston to Hackberry, a location near the coast of Southwestern Louisiana. We experience a phenomenon in our region with lovebugs, that love to die on the windshield, grill, front fender areas, mirrors, etc, in great numbers. Looking at the dispersion of the bugs on the windshield, I could see no effect that the deflector had. Just curious if anyone has had an experience with this product or any other that they could share with the forum.
e_piph_a_ny 09-08-2008, 01:15 PM Regarding the OEM deflector. I've wondered since the installation how effective this deflector was. The OEM has no effect on dispersing insects at all. I have it on to prevent dings and chips. Works great for that!
Chris93Si 09-08-2008, 05:01 PM Looks good, I'm not a big fan of deflectors but in the pic you can barely see it.
You hoping to protect from rock chips or hoping to see a little more mpg?
Oh yeah, where'd you purchase?
derek77 09-08-2008, 07:29 PM I bought it at buyautotruckaccessories.com. I mostly bought it as a hood protector. I still get my share of bugs on the windshield, but I was mostly concerned about getting dings on the hood from bugs and rocks. If the OEM performs similarly, then I saved lots of $$ for $60.95. Usually, hood deflectors don't increase MPG, to my knowledge. I would think it would have the opposite effect. I haven't noticed any one way or the other.
knobcreek 09-13-2008, 09:07 AM That looks great. I just placed an order through buyautotruckaccessories.com, after seeing your post, for the clear wrap around and some side windows visors on 9/10 and received the visors yesterday. The bug guard was being backordered, but I was able to install the visors last night without any major issues. One of the front visors was cracked, but not to the point of being unusable.
Buckeye79 12-02-2008, 09:02 AM I am looking for a painted bug/wind deflector to match my White RL and was wondering if anyone knew where I could order one?
Thanks for your help.
derek77 12-02-2008, 11:00 AM buyautotruckaccessories.com has the clear EGR Aerowraps too, which they can paint, or you can have it painted yourself when you get it. Since I have a black truck, it was not necessary for me to get the clear one, as the smoke one is pretty black.
