'Twas originally $199, plus Tax.

I found four, locally, at $39 Each, plus Tax. I bought one. I can see how much it costs to ship one of the others if you give me your Zip Code. But, of course, they may be gone.

I already offered this opportunity to three Members by PM, with no responses, yet. So if they respond by Tuesday, I'll try to help them first. There will be no added fees on my part, but I have to drive into a bad part of the city to that local Pep Boys location. I don't really want to do that unless you are serious.

These only come in Silver finish. The box is not huge, nor radically heavy. So Shipping should not be outlandish.

The box is 13 lbs shipping weight and will go just about anywhere in the US for under 15 bucks via FedEx. I shipped out 8 that I found in South Florida.

With these messages and the PMs to me, I've received several more requests than the number of units I can find. I think I'll have 5 available if the ones I'm expecting from 40 miles away are delivered tomorrow.

I will get to everyone that has posted prior to this time stamp as soon as I'm certain what I have. If anyone passes on this, I will offer it to the next person. There may be a slight fuel charge added-in due to the delivery issues (but not from me -- from Pep Boys). If so, I will spread that over all of the available units to make it fair to everyone. I am not making any money on this.

I don't mind doing this. Glad to help! But I just don't want to have to shell out the dollars they might charge me to get the units farther away delivered to my local counter. The reason these might still be left is that Pep Boys just did their Inventory for the year -- and one Manager told me this morning that they found all sorts of things that weren't in the computer system.

So if you miss these, I suggest you call around between now and this weekend. They are supposed to be placing everything out on their Clearance Tables today. I will not be offended if you back out of your stated interest here because you found it locally. That will save you the Shipping expense, and free-up your item for someone less fortunate.

I really did not expect to find any at all. I called two weeks ago and no one had any. I tried again this past Friday and -- all of a sudden -- there was 1 at 4 different stores, and 2 forty miles away. Three other stores did not have them listed. I think some of the Managers or Clerks see the word "discontinued" and don't bother checking further. Three of these Managers today started off that way -- then did a physical search in the warehouse and found four units between them, altogether.

I want to extend a big "thank you" to Guy for going the extra mile. I tried to find one when I was in Minneapolis last week, but had no success. I figured there was no way I was going to get one as Pep Boys isn't in Canada, nor in North Dakota, which is the closest state to me. Then I read Guy's email that he'd tracked some down.

I really appreciate the effort he went to to help out ROC members.

I checked two of the three stores in Minneapolis in early July, and there was only one between the two stores. The only store I didn't check was the Inver Grove Heights store - I assume you probably checked that one. :confused:

I don't live too much closer to Minneapolis than you do...:cool:

I tried the one that's closest to Maple Grove (not sure if that's near Inver Grove), but it was just a phone call. Might be worth a couple of calls as some stores seem to be finding sum in their inventory. Might be worth a shot.

I feel all your pain! I couldn't find one, either -- two weeks ago. But I saw the original notices very late.

I'm still looking here, but as I go farther out it gets to be less of a bargain because of shipping, or gas, etc. None of the stores will ship them to anyone, so far as I've been told.

If you called locally weeks ago, I'd check again because they just completed their Inventory for the fiscal year-end this past week.

As to the drawing, I feel really bad for the people that missed out. I'm always "That Guy". Three out of five have not responded, yet, but I need to give them a few days.

Inver Grove is one of the southern suburbs, east of Bloomington and the Mall of America.
I bought the only one from the Maple Grove store, sorry...:p I called the Minneapolis store and they had none. Those are the only 3 Pep Boys in Minnesota.

Just so no one is left waiting, the last person who won the final Bed Extender did contact me today -- so they're all gone. If I find any more I will contact those individuals who contacted me.

My Bed Extender arrived today, no damage, all parts and hardware accounted for! We sure do have some great ROC members, Guy is definitely one of them! Thanks again! :)

I got the extender in the other day and put it together today just before the rain storm rolled in :eek: . Must say it looks and fits great. Just want to thank Guy for his help for getting and sending the extender. Thanks Guy.

I can't thank Guy enough. I got it the other day, installed it last night and as I was installing it my old man came over and asked me about it. I explained to him how I got it and he asked me how much I paid premium, and when I told him nothing he was confused. Then he brought it up again because he was so confused, I think it went like "let me get this right, someone just sent this to you and didn't make anything???"

Guy like I told you, if you need anything ever please feel free to send me on some sort of part(s) mission.

Actually, I lost a few dollars -- but it's OK. The details on Paypal were either incorrect, or I did not pay attention. After refunding the extra "overpaid" dollars to everyone I realized that Paypal had actually deducted about $2 on every transaction, no matter how you paid (direct transfer or not). I'm not sure why.

But that's not really important to me. And DO NOT attempt to send any more funds because it isn't worth it to everyone. One buyer bumped up his payment a bit, just as a "Thank you!" -- and that helped a bit on this error on my part. I certainly did not expect it from anyone.

Just so long as everything is square with everyone, everything is OK. I was glad to do it. I tried to find more when I traveled through the Luray Caverns area of Virginia this weekend, but none of the Pep Boys had any.

I'm always surprised when altruism can't be understood by other people. I have a few family members that think altruism is another form of naivete. That's really a sad statement on human interaction. I'm 55 years old -- what's wrong with doing a fellow human bean a favor, now and then? When I was a child, it was a way of life here in the U.S.

Make that three! Guy, my package arrived at the US mailing address. It's about 60 miles from me and over the Can-US border, so I'll wait until I have some more items to pick up (saves duty, taxes etc.), so it may be a few weeks before I can actually pick it up to install.

Stopped by Pepboys in Napervile, Il and got the last one they had and it was a additional $10.00 off. $29.00 Now that's a deal. Gonna put it on my new 2008RLT. Had a 2006 but without the bed extender. There were quite a few times I could have used one, instead of using bungie cords and rope.

Went to Ohio to pick up my new 2007 Ridgeline (new to me with only 22,000 miles on it). Looked EVERYWHERE for a Pep Boys in Ohio near Heath but no luck. Was hoping to find one before heading back north across the Canada border to import my truck.

Anyone have an "extra" one they wanna ship north? Would gladly pay any fees.....Cheers

I think this deal is dead. I checked recently and the local PB here said his system shows no more, not even in the warehouse.:confused:
