Does anyone know what the new colors are to be. I seem to remember seeing it somewhere. Have a 2006 and love it but looking to upgrade.

The new exterior colors are Bali Blue Pearl, Mocha Metallic, and Sterling Gray Metallic.

Billet Silver Metallic, Dark Cherry Pearl, Formal Black, and White are carryover colors.

No Steel Blue:( ?????? That was my favorite color.I'm glad I purchased the Steel Blue as that is also my favorite color and we all know here that that is the color that the RL looks the best in.

I was still hoping for a white pearl. :(

If I were buying again, I'd probably get either black or dark cherry pearl. I like my silver, but it's such a "safe" color choice. Definitely no plain old white, though. White always makes me think of a rental or company vehicle. Blue and green are nice, but not for me. The mocha sounds interesting, but I'm afraid it might look too..."mature".

I wish they would get a Pearl/metallic white myself. I would probably do silver again without the pearl white.

Hello,

Does anyone know the interior color combinations yet? I would really like to get the tan leather interior, so that limits me to Dark Cherry Pearl or White in the 08's.

Thanks!

Can you imagine how cool a fire engine red RL would be!. The only problem (other than mushy shifting) is the older crowd paint choices. I hope the bali blue is candy like it says....

Since the colors are the same as the Pilot, I bet they are using this color chart:

2009 Honda Pilot - Color Chart (http://automobiles.honda.com/pilot/colors.aspx)

I wish the "color police" wouldn't limit me on my choice. I still don't understand why I can't order a $35,000 Dark Cherry Pearl RL and get the Gray Leather. Why do they limit color mixing? Gray goes with all exteriors. All 3 interior colors are neutral enough to stick into any exterior.

I've been hoping for a truer blue color for a while now. Any pics of what it is? And what's the difference between the plain white and pearl white?

Pearl White is a "Metallic" color. Toyota has a beautiful pearl white, that looks like a very fine "glitter" runs through it. It really adds to the depth, adds a VERY subtle "color cast" depending on viewing angle, and keeps it from looking like it is part of a "rental fleet". Very pretty color IMO (owned a Sienna with the color for 3 years).

That blue is way too dark , the steel blue is more blue than that is (just like the 06 red is more red than the red now offered). The mocha I'll just have to see on the truck. The sterling grey will appeal to some here (but not me). I don't know why they can't put out the truck with true colors instead of this dark stuff. If they want 20-40 year old demographic to buy more of them that would be a step in the right direction.

Here is a close up of the premium pearl white on our 07 accord hybrid. Pearl white is creamier than Taffeta white.

No Root Beer color like on the Element SC models?
Honda needs to wake up as I have said before.
We wen't Dark Cherry Pearl but the other Red on the 2006 was okay I prefer DCP. Honda talks age range for its colors but I don't think they know what will sell. Like I said before when we went to see the Ridgeline here downtown DC at the yearly Auto Show back in Jan 07. Myself & sister 2 other ladies that we did not know all said that Honda should put the Root Beer color on the Ridgeline. The Element SC Root Beer was sitting next to the 3 Ridgelines.
All of us looking at the Ridgeline were in the 45-55 age range.

No, just a colorblind old man - all colors look the same to him. If it looks grey, it's ok. The color motto of the Honda Color Picker.

Where is the Yellow, Orange, Fire Engine Red, Apple Green, Turquois, Dirt Brown ( or root beer brown ) and White Pearl. - God the colors get any worse and I will have to go back to Detroit. At Least they still have some non-color-blind color pickers.

And all Honda Hybrids have the same dreary colors - the red Civic EX looks so nice but you no can get in a hybrid.

GM & other auto makers give you many many ways to get color packages on your car. Honda does not give you many color options they could bend a little on this practice. I would have loved to get the Dark Cherry Pearl wth gray leather also.

Let's face it everybody... it all went downhill after they cancelled the green!

I was at the dealership today getting some warranty done and noticed a white 2009 RL on their lot. I have never been a fan of the white RL but this 09 really looks good. I think the new type grill along with the new style wheels really accents the white color. If I was buying a '09 I would definitely consider the white.:) My wife even liked it!!;)

People complain about the conservative color choice. They wonder why the red isn't more red and why the blue isn't more blue. I will tell you that Hondas color designers do not just sit around a sewing circle and choose colors based on the flowers they like or their wives eyes but on WHAT WILL SELL.

It's a sad but true fact that Americans want boring colors. What colors do you see on the highway? Silver grey white and black, sometimes a muted dark red. We all want to be thought of as rich and the rich are conservative. Only cheap cars are primary colors. Picture a Mercedes. Isn't it silver?

My recent experiences with a Porsche dealer should make this more apparent. Porsche is known to be the most profitable car company. Everything they do is about getting you to buy expensive options. There are only 4 stock colors: Plain white, plain black, yellow and red. Do you think they make those colors because that's what owners want? No! Most Porsches sold are silver or grey. He said that they only order silver gray black and white and Porsche's "special color" That's the color that looks goos and gets people to come into the showrowroom but they never buy because its too radical.

We all like to look at bright and exciting colors but when it comes down to brass tacks we are afraid to stand out and buy a blend-in color.

I disagree. Take a look at how many bright red Dodge and Chevy trucks there are on the road (and those aren't cheap, $35-45,000). Also have noticed a lot more yellow cars around in the last few years. Had I bought a Colorado like I was close to doing back when I got my first Ridge it would have been yellow. Only reason my 3 Ridge's have been white is because that's the only color offered I can stand to look at this truck with. To see the blue I'd like them to use, just look at any of the Honda dealer signs and the blue they are. And I haven't seen a decent green color on a vehicle since the mid 70's Chevy trucks.

I just picked up an 09 RTL with Nav in the Bali Blue- compared to the other colors, I think it looks alot more 'aftermarket' than most colors. It appears to be a darker blue, but in bright direct sunlight, it takes on a purplish tinge. The color chips that Honda uses doesnt do it justice, and I havent seen a photo of one that does.

Its raining here (in So Cal) but next time its bright and sunny i'll take a photo and post it.

I spoke to a friend of mine who works for PPG finishes, he says that most dealers have basically the same colors as each other because they are the "in" colors, each manufacturer has slightly different shades, manufacturers like Honda, Toyota etc. only offer certain color choices to keep prices down. GM, Chrysler, Ford offer alot more color choices, true, but that probably why there going broke.

I liked the blue more, it just takes alot more to maintain to keep it clean looking, especially where I live. That was the deciding factor.

Our local dealer got in their first 2009 and it was a white one. I was impressed. The new grill with the RL/Fog lights looks great and I like the new style wheels, but they are 18" . I will have to give up my Boss 318 chrome wheels, if I would upgrade. Come on 2010-2011

That color is beautiful. That would be my pick, if they had offered it when I purchased last spring.

My daughter has similar color Camry and it always looks nice even though it is 11 years old.

Enjoy your RL.

Brad:)
