Has anyone ever tried installing rear fog lights on their Ridgeline?
My '04 Audi A4 Quattro has them (actually "it" since on the A4 it's really one light).
In my opinion, I believe this to be a valuable safety feature when driving in thick fog. People speeding up from behind you will be able to see you sooner than without them in most foggy situations.
And yes, I did a search for "rear fog lights" and got nothing (relevant). :)

Those rear fogs are really annoying since most people drive with their fog lights on when it is not even foggy. I know that I have left my fog light switch on from the day I got my Ridge. It would be good if there was a separate switch for the rear fogs.

Supplying a separate 12V line to feed the driver's side brake light would probably do the trick although you would have to wire in a diode and some sort of resistance to drop the voltage a tad.:)

Yes I had a single Red Rear Fog Light for my 06 Ridgeline. I made it up as a single centre mount that fit into the hitch receiver so it could be easily installed or removed. Yes I know the proper location is to the left rear, I used mine with caution ie; I would pull over and install only when I was caught out under adverse Fog or Snow conditions. You could do a Google search Red Rear Fog Lamp. The best is the KC Hilites (American made and quality) The PIAA LED one is a piece of Trash, that's were mine is.

PS: I am no longer a Ridgeline owner but still in the Honda Family with an 08 Accord but the Ridge is still embedded in my heart so I check in here now and then.

how could you go from the Ridgeline to an Accord??
Gas really does not matter. Just don't eat!

Ridge Man:
Great idea on the receiver mount. How did you do your wiring connection, a single wire to the 4 wire outlet? Does the receiver provide the ground?
Thanks

I never have a problem with the rear fog light on my A4 since it requires an extra pull on the headlight switch to activate it after the front fogs have been turned on. Plus, there's an light indicator letting you know the rear fog is still on. But you bring up a very good point as I would also like the Ridgeline's rear fog (preferably the rear left like on my A4) to operate in the same manner.

That's a clever solution but I was looking for something a little more permanent and plus I don't have the O.E.M. receiver hitch (yet). Thanks for your input. I'm sure others (especially those with a receiver hitch) will find this useful.

Yes I used the OEM wires to power the lamp. As I no longer have my Ridge I don't quite remember but to complete the connetion your ignition switch and maybe the light switch must be on??? Here is a better picture, hope this helps.
