Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying a Certified 2007 Ridgeline RTL with Nav and customizing it with the following;

Roll Pan Bumper
Parking Sensors - I found the OEM parts here. 2009 Honda Ridgeline - Accessory Detail - the Official Honda Web Site (http://automobiles.honda.com/ridgeline/accessory-detail.aspx?Accessory=RIDGE09068)
1" Lowering Kit
Custom Wheels - (I like these OEM) 2009 Honda Ridgeline - Accessory Detail - the Official Honda Web Site (http://automobiles.honda.com/ridgeline/accessory-detail.aspx?Accessory=RIDGE09026)
Custom Grill
Hide-away hitch
light bar and/or sporty luggage rack - (I like this OEM) 2009 Honda Ridgeline - Accessory Detail - the Official Honda Web Site (http://automobiles.honda.com/ridgeline/accessory-detail.aspx?Accessory=RIDGE09009)

Has anyone added those little parking sensors to their Ridgeleine? How much did you pay? Does it work well? Any complaints?

Any recommendations, tips or pics appreciated :)

Thanks for reading.

My "parking assist sensors" are the 2 1/2" convex mirrors I added on my door mirrors. I can see parking lot lines or curbs in them very well. They also help significantly with freeway lane changes.

I used to use my VR3 backup camera a lot, but now that I am familiar/comfortable with the truck I only need it in certain unusual situations.

My 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo lease is up soon and I love the Parking Assist. Gotta have it :)

Engyo, did you happen to buy your add-on mirrors on line? If so, any chance you could provide a link? I'm sure I can find these lots of places, but it would be nice to know that a certain model fits and works well with the Ridgeline.

Thanks,

Cromag,

I have the OEM parking sensors on my RL. They work great. I encourage you to experiment with them to help build your confidence and learn what the actual distances are based on the different sounds the system makes. The sensors use a variable tone to let you know how close you are to something. Once it reaches a solid tone, it's time to stop.

The one thing to be careful of is becoming complacent on using the parking sensors. Once you become accustomed to using the sensors, it is easy to forget that not every vehicle has them which can cause problems when you're backing up.
