Enjoy reading the mad ravings of a certifiable nut case! This was a PM to me.
Shipmate you missed the point and stooped to the lowest possible level spooning out public insult like the worm you are. I tried to point out what I percieved as the error of your purchase and you can't take the criticism. If you honestly compared available product and still purchased a Honda and you;re happy then that's great and I hope that you enjoy the car.
Me an As#$%le, yea maybe I am to you and other boneheads but never and I mean never can you say that I ignored your plight and didn't at least try to set you on the straight and narrow. For what it's worth I thank for you very much for your 22 years of service to our country. Not many people in this day and age can or will cope with the rigors of military life let alone unselfishly dedicate the better part of their adult lives in the service of the greatest nation on Earth. I often correspond with Army, Marine, Coast Guard, Navy and Airforce veterans like yourself and I always feel some comraderie.
You however, so obviously lacking the requisite leadership skills necessary for a senior enlisted in any branch, willingly and knowingly crossed the line and attempted (albeit weakly...Had some early ASVAB problems did ya?) public humiliation on an open forum. That my friend, equates to absolute Shi&head status and I now know the color of your backside...It was you that crawled through your so called career, skipping from one duty station to another before your incompetency was detected and appropriate recognition given...You are the type that can't stand the spotlight and always managed to stand in the shadows...The (apparent) fact that you managed to advance to E-8 indicates that you were at least partly competent in that one regard and probably makes you feel as though you did succeed. Phychologists refer to this trait as projection and it mainfests itself in much the same way that you portray yourself in writing. If you hadn't so wantonly insulted me on a personal basis as you have, I would feel sorry for you but now all I feel is complete and utter contempt and can only think of you is as the slimeball you so obviously are. Based on this I ask you to immediately inform the United States Airforce that your entire career was completed under false pretenses. If you come clean now, foregoing any unearned retainer pay and immediate payback of that part that you've stolen from my government then you may not have to do any time...Please act soon and remember that I'm thinking of you...come clean and admit your failure...it is in your best interests!
Back to the original subject...I questioned your and others ownership of a foreign vehicle in this time of my countries (obviously not yours) economic crisis and offered clear facts and straightforward comparison in order to draw out a discussion and you resort to verbal sword play (you are unarmed and should avoid any such future attempt at combat outside of a video game)...You truly are a loser as demonstrated by your treasonous and ignorant purchase coupled with your wanton disregard for the well being of current, fomer and yes even future service members...I strongly suspect that your so called career in what could be a very effective fighting force (except for no-loads like you in their ranks) was spent in some glorified, sidelined, REMF administrative role. This is based on your public commentary amongst a bunch of know nothing civilians which even the lowest form of recruit knows not to do.
Shipmate, take a deep breath and think about me as often as you like in whatever terms you like...especially when driving the car you own. If you can; try to think about it in a positive light without guilt when you read the tails of US economic woe spouted daily in whatever periodicals and news journals you manage to find that use a 3rd grade writing style that you can stumble through. Try and imagine (if you're feeble mind is even capable of such a feat), that your misguided and treasonous thought processes are acceptable and that you are OK and that you feel that you did you part for the country and now everyone owes you something. Then after you've contemplated for awhile and your children are going hungry, can't find meaningful (civilian) work that pays a living wage within the borders of the nation in which we live (which by the way it's obvious that of the 2 of us, only I protected during our mutual 20+ years of service)...Do this one thing for me (and notice that it is all I ask of you beyond opening your mind, oh and turning yourself in...don't forget that one)...Try oh please try to eat your precious car. Look me up anytime you drive through...I'll pay for the tow.

Yikes! This guy sounds like he has some very serious mental problems. After reading his wild rantings I suspect that they may be caused by one or all of the following:

1) Methamphetamine abuse
2) Cocaine abuse
3) Repeated failure to keep his head down when passing through water tight doors (if he actually ever was in the Navy at all)
4) All of the above

I suspect that #1 is very likely but #4 is not out of the question. We may have a Crack head visiting us and sharing his drug induced wisdom. I doubt that he has any sense that he sounds like a raving lunatic. He needs some mental health help. I hope that he gets some soon.

For those ROC members that don't know what all of this is about, it started on another thread http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1294 . It's too sad to be funny. His last post on that thread said: Last post...I know you're happy with that!
. If his rantings continue I suggest that T Mac blocks his access to this site.

Tex, I am sorry that you had to put up with his rantings. You don't deserve it.

Draconian, please ask your friends, your boss or your family to help you to get professional help. Or you can simply pick up the phone and call your local mental health or drug abuse hot line. They can help you. You do need it.

Maybe this guy needs to realize that HONDA produces over 80% of the vehicles it sells in the USA, right here in the Good Ol' USA. Not including Motorcycles and the largest small engine factory on the planet. Over 1 million good paying jobs in this country are a direct result of Honda's manufacturing in the USA. This guy would prefer having Honda leave the country and everything from small businesses to large companies would go under with it's departure. He "Dosen't Have a Clue" to what he's talking about. Next time someone makes a snow cone for him at his favorite county fair, he might just want to take a look at the engine that's powering the machine. Thank You HONDA!!!!!

Hey Tex, I just read the Dracula post. Is this guy slamming you for buying a foreign vehicle? I'm sorry but the last American vehicle I bought, I had an extended warranty and they never got a problem I had fixed over the last 3 months of it. I brought it back after it had ended and they refused to fix the problem when they never fixed it in warranty. because of that I said I would never buy another American made vehicle until they are as good or better than a BMW or Japanese Product. That Guy can go pound sand!

Bet the guy shops at Wal-Mart too, and the majority of their products are made out of the country.

I've owned American and Japanese (does he not know that many Honda cars are assembled in the US?). I've been much happier with Hondas than my other cars overall.

I appreciate all of those, past and present military, that have fought for the American way.

One of those 'ways' includes freedoms of every kind, including freedom of choice. Yes, military personnel fight to keep my rights and freedoms.

And I appreciate the opportunity to make an educated decision because I had the freedom to go to school and be educated. And my educated choice lets me spend my hard earned money wisely. It's hard earned because for the past 18+ years I have put my life on the line every day.

There's no such this as 'true' American anymore when it comes to any consumer purchase. Hell, look where our oil comes from!

So I pity the uneducated people in this country. No, not the ones that can't afford schooling and are low income. I mean the ones that are so narrow minded and think the world revolves around them and only they can be right. I guess ignorant is a better word.

Tex, sorry you beared the brunt of that a**hole. There will always be some out there.

And, thank you to all that serve and have served in the military to give me the freedoms I enjoy.

Suffice to say this guy is one hate-filled psycho. Imagine having to deal personally with this wierdo, i.e. as a co-worker or spouse. I really pity those people. I, too, cast a vote in favor of T-MAC blocking this guy from the site. Shipmate,
I opened a meaningful dialogue with an import owner forum and you've interpreted it as a personal attack...Feeling a little guilty are we?
Please tell me how I managed to question your patriotism while questioning your choice of vehicle and while we're on the subject tell me how you've demonstrated it (Your patriotism) lately or give me some personal example of such a belief or act.
If you need assistance let help you get started. Complete the following sentence: I own a Honda Ridgeline because I love my country and everyhting it stands for. My personal choices and actions to date that strengthen my country are........

Do not be so quick on the keyboard! You arm an unarmed opponent in a battle of wits and again, you've chosen poorly with respect to your vehicle of choice.

I can't tell you how refreshing it's been...Thanks!

Athenian lawgiver whose harsh legal code punished both trivial and serious crimes in Athens with death--hence the continued use of the word draconian to describe repressive legal measures.

The handle speaks for itself - an extremist, but his rants kinda convey that too, don't they?

I wonder how he manages in real life when he isn't hiding behind a mask of anonimity?

The internet is a wonderful thing. Mr Bennett may work at Mahoney Chevrolet in Indianapolis. I am putting 2+2 together and may be getting 5, but I found a post from a Jim Bennett USN(Ret) with a mahoneychevy.com email address. Based on his original post as Draconian, and an irrational liking for the Avalanche, maybe 2+2 does equal 4.

Just today I took in on trade a 2003 Chevy Impalla, the car was worth $7500 and he owed $16,247 and when he bought it he had no trade and thought he had gotten a good deal..... WOW look at that American product hold its value now....By the way that $7500 was $3000 less than average NADA blue book, we had 3 Chevy dealers tell us they didn't even want it, at any $. So it seems to me that it is costing us Americans even more to own an "American" vehicle. Thanks, I will pass.

Hey, don't they make GM vehicals outside of the US of A? ;)

A lot of "foreign" makers are just as "american" as any of the Big Three. Ofcourse one of the Big Three is about as American as ohh say bratwurst.

And for this guys information. Honda was I believe the first Japanese auto maker to have a plant in the US of A.

First: I read the original thread and I would like to make a desperate plea to Draconian in his future internet endeavers to please put breaks after his paragraphs because they are huge posts and unreadable without breaks after the paragraphs. I have a hunch they would be unreadable anyway, but please, please give it a shot.

Second: So far from my experience on the net, I deduce that the shape of the Ridgeline some how forms a chemical lock in the brain that's communicated through the visual cortex of the mentally ill somehow triggering a psychotic break that results in hysteria on internet forums. I can't prove it but I think it's a solid theory, and should be addressed in the next reissue of the Ridgeline in 5 years. It's a public mental health issue and should be addressed by Honda engineers.

Thirdly: Out of all Draconian's ramblings, I found this the most disturbing: ...I drive an old van that I bought new in Great Britain in 94'
I just can't get the idea of him driving an old van painted with flat black primer and tinted windows out of my head. I'll be looking over my shoulder when I exit my Ridgeline for awhile.

Fourthly: Artegee and Tex, you have my sympathy.

i've never read anything with so many words that says absolutely nothing!

he seems like someone who writes to the editorial pages so much that they quit printing what he sends.(because he makes no sense)

i live in a rural area, that you may say is behind the times, but nobody has said anything but positives about this truck.

my dad who is a big dodge fan, had nothing but praise for this truck from the first time he rode in it. he brags about to anyone who will listen.

so, if this draconian thinks he speaks for everyone who bleeds red, white, and blue he is saddly mistaken
