To my SoCal ROC'ers (and our honorable neighbors from other states who very often make their way to the SoCal meets) and ROC'ers in general who like me will click most any thread to see what lies within:

Today I leave for Monterey, Ca to do the wrap ups necessary for the completion of my degree. I have been working for two years on a distance learning masters in systems engineering from Naval Postgraduate School.

My son will leave with me this morning, my wife will fly in on Thursday night to attend Friday's graduation. This week should be easy for me, my thesis was submitted (after more review than I care to try to count!) and my last final has been completed. The only "work" I have left is a short presentation of my thesis to the incoming group of distance learning students and to the program faculty. After that presentation it is the closing out of library accounts and other administrative functions (there are always other administrative functions when you are military).

I will be moving in October to the state of Washington for my next assignment. It looks like my SoCal meet days are over. Due to the timing of my graduation, I am not able to joing the upcoming meet in Yosemite. I'm sure all there will have a fantastic time.

It was a pleasure meeting the many of you who live, work and enjoy this area.

We are all very proud of you Steve. A Masters Degree is an exceptional accomplishment. It was awesome being able to meet you and share some time together. Don’t be a stranger if you ever get to travel back down into Southern Cal. I’m sure our “Northern ROC-Heads” will welcome you with open arms! ROC-On!

congratulation on your studies and the completion of your master's program.
Best wishes to you and family at your new home. May have to reach if some of us are in the area, just to say HI:D, I think the consensus is, once you're a SoCal ROC family you're in the family forever.

Congratulation on the hard work, and I may follow your lead for graduate school in a few years. Good luck and drop in a line when you're in the neighborhood. Good luck.

Thanks for the nice words...I will be sure to make my rounds if future travels brings me back to the SoCal zone.

Things are moving along smoothly today...did my presentation and was approached by professor afterwards who wants to use the basis of my thesis to apply to some ongoing work he is doing! That made me fell pretty good...it is one thing to do so much work on a report...it is often another thing altogether as to when or if it is applied. :D
