Been a while since we got togather. I hope you think it's time. We've met in Schaumberg since it seems to be in the middle for everyone. Let's start some chatter!

Got your PM John, thanks again! Yes, its time for a meet! Theres some new people and RLs here to get to know. I know some people were holding out for a meet at Chicago Indoor Racing, Addison. Its just about ready. Building is up, tracks are down, just a few more final touches. It will be a madhouse though :). Thats kinda bigtime. We can do a good ol burger and beverage on the side, also, or instead.

I'm in!! Ive been a RL owner for 15 months and I love it. Im the guy waving to you as I pass by on the street (RL to RL). It would good to meet everyone face to face.

Very good so far we have 4 I know we have more how about some more!

I'd be interested in meeting some fellow RL owners, although "free time" is pretty scarce now a days with a child :). I'm in the western suburbs.

If you guys do it the Sunday before thanksgiving, you can count me in.

I travel up I-90 west around Schaumburg for business.

I am in for a meet in the Chicago area. Time is tight though it is hunting season. I am out to Colorado for Elk and Mule deer then down south for white tale. I an always chasing ducks geese and phesants this time also. Let me know I'll try to make it.

All seems good to me. Yep we met at the RAM that time. Not a bad place at all. I was still trying to think of another place to just keep it interesting. The 1st works for me. The only reason I could wait another week was to see if anyone else chimed in. Having all these out-of-towners would be sweet as well :). Like our own little national meet.

I have to work on the 1st now. So lets do it on the 8th or later :). May this be a free bump for more to spot it.

Just ordered my white RTX today. Dealer said I should get it by the end of the week. Hopefully in time to meet you all at the Ram. If this is still on? If I get it, I will be there. Would like to see what everyone has done to their RLs. I have test driven the truck many times and love it. But wonder if I really bought it partly because I like this forum so much! Was considering other vehicles but the Ridgeline offered so much for such a good deal. Anyway, I am kind of a regular at The Ram in Rosemont. Ok, I am a regular. Very few responses. I can't even tell if this is still on. I will be there if someone says so in the next 12 to 14 hrs or so. Otherwise, like I said push it back another week or 2. Chances are I'll be at Woodfield with my girl anyway, so let me know.

Hell Yeah it has!!! I've been away from the forums for awhile... probably missed a few things, but such is life. Its winter again - at least around here - and I want to know how many of you have been turning off the traction control and letting that tail end spin? :eek:

My kids love this time of year because after every snowfall we go look for unploughed parking lots and let that rear end go:p I wish I knew of a way to measure the G - force and make it a science lesson for the little ones:D

Anyway - I see a meet attempt was made for Nov. I'm almost always up for that - that brewpub right off of I-90 / Rt 53 was a nice spot, lets see if we can plan another after the start of the year - say late Jan 09.

once the weather breaks Id be gald to have folks out to my place, out west(near Starved Rock) for a cook out. :D

Otherwise with fuel as low as it these days I would be willing to make a trek east for a meet-up. Perhaps the week before or the week after the Super Bowl weekend.

2009 is here and so is another wonderful Midwestern winter :rolleyes: Anyone have a place they really like that we can all meet up at? I'm in the NW Burbs and am pretty flexible whatever the group thinks is good - is good for me :cool: Since Jan is 1/2 way thru and SB is right around the corner, lets try for Mid Feb.

I suggest we try and find a place near a mall (Gag - Choke) or something that has a multi-tier parking deck so we can get the RL's (kinda) out of the elements for viewing purposes.

previous meets had only a little to do with checking out other members RL's, they seemed to be centered around bending an elbow, having something to eat, and chatting.

I love calling them back in July and Aug to check in when it gets close to 15 - 120 degrees and they can't go out either. You should come out here to experience first hand. :eek:

glad you enjoyed the blog, I have to add some pictures from a couple of places I went this past weekend(Chinese BBQ, and Cajun).

Also went to a Snout to Tail cooking event at the Green City Market in Chicago. Lots of pork dishes obviously, and Chef Rick Bayless from Frontera/Topolobampo was one of the guest chefs.

If anyone's interested in a south suburb location, I've been assured that on Saturday afternoons we'd have no problem with parking or seating for our group at an Irish pub called The Galway Tribes in Frankfort, IL.

It has a great atmosphere and good food, too! :)

Some members from Indiana could show up there, since it's sorta convenient to get to from I-80, and it's right off of US 30. ;)

No thanks. I'm So Cal born and raised and transplanted to AZ about 20 years ago. My blood's to thin to survive a real winter. Besides, I like it when it's 110.

Nobody has replied to this thread for a while. I know it has been kind of cold recently but we did have a couple nice days this week. Will there be a meet coming up soon? I just moved to Illinois and would love to check out other ridgelines. I believe mine should be done within the next couple of weeks..

It's fishin' season, boys. I'll be draggin' the boat down to the big lake before sun up tomorrow to see if I can put a few salmonids in the box. I'm willing to meet, but only if the weather isn't tolerable for fishing.

Hey all you Chicago area fools...... is it summer here yet?:eek: Here are a few ideas for places we can have a Chi-area meet that are family friendly lets talk about it...

Starved Rock - parking is good and so are the sites (not to mention that there is suppose to be a killer BBQ king living in the area...)

Arlington Raceway - lots-o-parking and a chance to blow some money

Brookfield Zoo - parking and kids love it

Anyone have a favorite forest preserve we could picnic at? Or any other recommendations. My next few weeks are full but lets plan for early Aug.

How about a Chicago meet at one of the parks along Lake Shore Drive?
