Anyone that needs to disconnect the battery to connect speaker wires should do themselves a favor and leave it to a professional (or their baby sister) :D

once you get that little notch going its pretty good for stripping wires and of course bottle caps. heck the dentist needs to pay off that boat behind his ridgeline anyway

Anyone know what would happen if you cross up connections ? I installed drivers side door last night and had to guess which wire was neg and which one positive. Speaker works so I assume I guessed correctly. I don't remember which wire I connected to. Will the speaker work if the wires are crossed? Thanks.

When you cross the leads the speakers alternate and try to cancel each other out. This makes the sound muffled. That what Bose noise cancelling headphones do, they pick up sounds and then produce counter sound waves to cancel them. You can also harm your amp by placing ubalanced loads through any cross over circuits in the amp. It's liek crossing up spark plug wires. The car will probably start and run (badly) but it can damage things
