RkyMntHigh 11-17-2008, 12:59 AM Hello,
I am think about buying a used 07 Ridgeline and was wondering out of the 07' owners what you like and dislike about the truck?
Thanks
TexnNC 11-17-2008, 07:13 AM I purchased mine used w/43k miles on it. Received the warranty/service history from a local dealership. The only thing he had done under warranty was a battery. Since I've had it (8/08 on) I've just added a few accessories and replaced a few cosmetic pieces the guy wore out. Been very happy with it.:D
jeremylmann 11-17-2008, 08:42 AM I bought an 07 RTL in 10/08 with 8700 miles. It is a great truck with lots of features. I could list more things that I like than I dislike. To be nitpicky the first thing would be the gas mileage. Seems to be off par compared to other v6 trucks and some full size V8's. Blind Spots, but after you have had it awhile you get used to them. Some of the control locations. And then the seats, they are not as comfortable as I would like and they need to use a better quality of leather....the leather in ours seems to be cheap. Those would be the biggies. But again, I like so much more than I dislike.

I really do like how the harder you push it in spirited driving, the more responsive it feels. Though the AWD, 4WD, whatever hurts economy, it really makes the vehicle feel planted.
RkyMntHigh 11-17-2008, 05:45 PM Al right I should be picking up my new baby tomorrow.
2007 RTL SB/NAVI Aberdeen Green Metalic (The best color. She only has 18,385 miles on her.
I think I am going to have the dealer install some accessories which might delay the pickup till Thursday. I don't know if I can wait that long!
Thanks for the responses I really found them usefull when I went for the test drive today! The leather seats in my Pilot are horrible almost vinal like, so the seats in the Ridgeline are a huge upgrade. I use to drive Fire Engines when I was in the military so Blind spots don't bother me that much either. I think the one thing I can say that I dislike about the truck is how plane jane it looks with no accessories! But I am going to fix that. I'll post a pic when I get her!
TexnNC 11-17-2008, 07:52 PM Early congratulations! Definitely a lot of accessories depending upon what you want to achieve. I did the fog lights and optional grill myself.
Dempt277 11-17-2008, 10:10 PM What kind of accessories are you thinking about, I got my 07 with the factory running boards installed and they do a great job of keeping the mud and rocks off the side of the truck, along with the mud guards. Also, in my opinion the rtx grill is a great improvement over the stock. Pick it up as a part instead of an accessory and it will save you about 100 bucks (minus the new H emblem, but the old one fits just fine). You will really enjoy your new ride!
RkyMntHigh 11-18-2008, 04:34 PM Alright I picked her up today. No accessories yet but I will get them slowly over time. I am thinking about Roof Rack, Running board, fog lights, after market Brush Guard, the 2" lift kit from Truxxx and other small things. I will post a pic when I get a chance to take one!
RkyMntHigh 11-19-2008, 12:01 PM Here she is, I will take better picture when I am skiing next week (if there is any snow that is!)
DrZew 11-19-2008, 04:07 PM I love my 07 rtx great choice. First off get the figgs hood support and give the prop rod a toss in the trash. Now its a question of preferance. I got the coverall floor mats, side molding, chrome factory wheels ,extang solid tonneau cover, auto start, hella back up lights and yakima roof rack [when necessary] oh yea the fumoto drain makes oil changes a breeze. The FUN never stops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ToyTruck 11-23-2008, 07:06 PM RkyMntHigh--congrats and may I say, nice color choice. You'll find that bright accents really bring out the color. I had chrome skins for a while and it looked great. Also liking the 08 alloys. Enjoy.

RkyMntHigh 12-10-2008, 05:38 PM Took it out in the sun after spraying the salt crap that get put down on military base roads and she finaly looked green today. Most of the time she looks grey with a slight green hue. Must have been the way the sun was hitting it. I can wait to see it under a Colorado Summer sky! What a great color this is.
wrenrj1 12-10-2008, 06:53 PM Check your swing gate to make sure it easily opens. Many to include me had problems with the swing gate latch engaging to open that needed to be repaired. My 07 DCP RTX has a bug deflector as its only mod. I hear it repels deer, skate borders, and democrats...
Don't complain about the XM ready radio, that's been beaten to death...
Finally, don't submerge your RL in water, just don't.
Honda.Bob 12-11-2008, 03:00 PM I drove a 2009 Ridgeline yesterday, These are my comments of how i see things.
Getting in and out of it not to bad, but could have more head room. Seats fairly comfortable.
Interior lay out just ok not over done.Shoulder checking and blind spots yes have to watch that's a problem. Ride and comfort yes very nice that i did have good marks for.
The engine and power train, will greatly is in the need of a six speed transmission, and for horse power and toque sluggish for a 3.5L engine must have at lease 270 HP.265 or so for the toque. Just maybe a MDX engine. Now for leg room must say my left leg did get tired and cramped so could us at least 3" more room. If you are six foot or six foot five its the waist to foot that make the difference for the leg room. I will wait one more year or so to see what Honda will do as a top auto maker they have been very disappointing to me and really cut back on there product to save money but at what expense as now they are not number ONE anymore believe i heard they are about #3. I have owned about 6 Hondas.
RkyMntHigh 12-14-2008, 08:05 PM I have another Like, It HADLES LIKE A CHAMP IN THE SNOW!!!!
I can't get it to slide out or for the ABS to kick in. The OEM tires are just fantastic. They will be replaced by more OEM.
hawkpilot2003 01-01-2009, 12:32 PM I have had my 07 RTL w/nav for 2 weeks and taken a few trips in it so far....it has been clear and very cold this week, and miy wife commented about the silvery plastic door handle being too relective as the sun was reflected in her face during one of the drives. I have to admit fuel mileage is not great but the cosmetic details of the large door handle could have been made better by darkening it or making it subdued.

I like most everything about it. But not the quality of the seat material/foam.
Problems.
Rynxprs 01-17-2009, 09:51 PM Dislikes
- Lights dont' turn off automatically.
- passenger doors do not unlock by just opening the door like the drivers door does (kind of the wife dislike, not mine. :)
Thats it.
Headlights is just because, I'm use to the lights turning off. My wifes car does it and my old car did it too. It was a nice feature.

As long as you take the keys out of the ignition the headlights go off after 30 seconds
Read in your manual, you can change the unlock settings for the doors too

You've got to turn the VSA off to get it to slide and get on some ice to get the ABS to kick in. That's one of the things I most like about the RL is its stability in all conditions. It's really a fun vehicle to drive and, unlike most pickups, isn't always trying to slide out from underneath you. You'll love the trunk, the lights in the bed, the tie downs, the tailgate, the rear seat room, the room in the back with the seats up, how easily it hauls a mountain bike inside, the comfortable seats, the center console, and in your particular case, the color! I find it doesn't show dirt like black and looks mighty fine when it's cleaned up!
Personal dislikes now that I've had mine for 18 months are:
1. Gas mileage - for a V6 from Honda, it should be better than 15 mpg.
2. Those push-button switches left of the steering wheel - maybe Japanese knees don't hit 'em, but mine sure do!
3. The radio position/controls - too far away from the driver.
GTADUDE 01-18-2009, 06:36 AM I like the ride, much better than any other truck that I have owned. I like the under bed trunck, use it all the time and keeps cab clutter free. Love the handling on ice and in snow, the last few weeks I have had a great time looking for snow to drive in, have not been close to stuck. Back seat is comfortable when travelling, have taken other couples on day trips and they commented on comfort. Overall best vehicle that I have ever owned.

thats fricken awsome....I didn't leave the lights long enough to see if they would turn off becasue of the warning buzzer going of, just assumed it didnt' do that.
I'll definitly check the manual...amazing people actually read those things? :)

yeah, the lights thing got me too.. I killed a battery in the wifes car cause Im used to them going off on there own...LOL
Joe Domingos 02-12-2009, 07:37 AM I Love my 07 Ridgeline White with tan interior, running boards, sunroof, bug deflector, wind deflector for sun roof. I think it is the best truck on the road today. She has turned heads as I drive around town. My leather seats are plush and very comfortable. I love ithe in bed trunk space, and the fold up rear seats. The stereo with the sub woofer is kicking! But true gas milage is poor :(
codex57 02-12-2009, 05:14 PM Yeah, true gas mileage isn't too hot. Especially since it only has adequate power.
I think the dash is kinda ugly. 09 is greatly improved (exterior looks too). That's not a big gripe though.
Otherwise I love this thing. The trunk is just awesome. Like that area above the glovebox too and the center console. Most of all, I love the flip up seats. Fit a 50" Vizio plasma tv from Costco, in the box, in the back seat. Shocked the Costco workers, who had just loaded a similar tv into the bed of a full sized truck cuz there was no way it woulda fit in the backseat.

co-sign everything in Bold. I like the dash though, however, the dimmer doesn't dim enough. It would also be cool if the center console angled towards the driver like the Olds Aurora, but I guess it's fine where it is. Also the lighting on the center console climate control could be easier to read at night.
Either way, I love this truck.

Heheh. That is funny! (and good to know!)
FLA-Vyk 02-17-2009, 08:15 AM When I bought my blue 06 there were non in the area. Then when I went back a year later there was the white I wanted and traded on the spot. I love my 07 white Ridgeline.

Woodys Ridge 02-17-2009, 09:46 AM Well I like my 07,
Mine came with the swimming pool option in the front drivers side. (I will be posting a thread on needing help removing the interior next so any help would be appreciated) thanks in advance.
Also I don't have the leather seats, and the cloth ones stain...bad. Snow stains them. No really it does, and it is not the salt. I set my snow brush on the seat after wiping off the windshield the first week I bought it, (floor was full of stuff.) and it left a hand size water stain on the cameltoe interior...ugh!
Besides that love it! Awesome in the snow, mud, rain..etc. Its fun to take off the VSA and just giver down the back country roads.
Has lots of storage and neat lil nuances.
Ok thats it time to write my own question..:(
NC Ridge Runner 06-26-2009, 01:00 PM Purchased my 07 RTX yesterday with 32K miles on it. The Honda folks wanted to sell me a bumper to bumper warranty for appx. $1900. Kind of high I think. Use to own an Avalanche a few years ago. As I understand it Honda kind of copied the Avalance which by the way was not a bad vehicle to copy. I do like the little bit smaller size of the Ridgeline. Also like the "hidden" compartment by the tailgate. Good place to hide things you don't want anyone knowing what you are hiding. :D

The cloth seats STINK - Honda should be ashamed - I had an 06 RTS with 50,000 miles on it and a couple of weeks ago (I posted the details on here) I traded it on an 07 with 16 k but FULL leather - drove it to Fla. the next day, grandkids and everyone crawled in and out of it the whole week - grubby little footprints wiped right off...I lay my elbow on the console cover of my other truck with sweat, suntan lotion or whatever on my arm and have to clean it 2-3 times... or keep a towel draped across it..pain in the @$$... WATER - plain rainwater will stain those seats.
usranger74 08-30-2009, 06:39 PM I got my 07 new - put 33K on it so far. I use it for trips only and often camp out of it. No problmes at all with it thus far. Goes good in snow. When I am east of the Rocky Mts, I can get 24 MPG driving at 55 MPH (I am in no rush).
RinconRidgeline 11-13-2009, 11:05 PM 31,000 miles and still doing fine.
Need more leg room and thigh support. I'm 6'4 225lbs. Front seats are small to me.

It's the only thing I hate about the Ridgeline. The seats. Stain if you look at them the wrong way.

LOL! I had the same problem when I first bought mine. The trick to the door locks is one of those turn the key press this, press that, I ended up taking it to the dealer but got the lock settings changed, also the window settings

I have the opposite problem. 5'1 and can't get the seat to adjust the perfect way, when I do the hubby gets in and jacks it all up! go figure!

I'm sorry...I had to laugh when I saw this. Mine doesn't have the cameltoe interior.
