RkyMntHigh 11-17-2008, 05:56 PM I want to tell you if you are planning on buying a new/used Honda go to Burt Kuni Honda in Denver. I low balled them on the price and they came back with another price that was only slightly higher than the one I gave them and A LOT LESS than the Truck was advertised. They called me back when they said they would and everyone was friendly and a joy to work with! This is the second time I have worked with them and I will continue to buy Hondas from them. They are always willing to deal with you as long as you are nice to them and they will return it tenfold! I should be picking up my new 07 RTL SB/NAVI tomorrow or Thursday and I can’t wait to take it up to Breckenridge during Thanksgiving (Hopfully we will have some snow up there)!
Sparkland 11-17-2008, 06:39 PM I do not have firsthand knowledge of the buying experience at Kuni, however I can say that when I bought my RL from Ralph Schomp Honda in Littleton, they did everything they could to keep me from leaving their dealership and heading over to Kuni--I think that speaks well of Kuni.

Did they succeed in keeping your business... or did you head over to Kuni?
RkyMntHigh 11-18-2008, 04:30 PM I picked up my new Baby today! Didn't add any accessories yet I think I will have to do that as time goes on. The wife loves it I love it and I guess that is all that counts. I will post a pic when I get a chance to take one!

FYI, I did purchase my RL from Ralph Schomp Honda. They gave me over $7000 for my trade-in (1997 Toyota T-100 with 110,000 miles) and also discounted the RL $6,000. At the time the dealer incentive was $3500, two weeks later it was increased to $4500, when I bought the end of March.
I was comfortable with the deal and did not deem it necessary to head on over to Kuni.
However, when we bought the 2008 Civic in May, the pricing at Schomp was almost $800 more than other dealers, so we purchased from Fisher Honda in Boulder, since we live in the northern part of the city.
Congratulations RockyMtnHigh on your new RL. I truly enjoy the ride and the spaciousness of the vehicle.
speedlever 11-18-2008, 07:11 PM Ah. A fellow former T100 owner. I had a '98 4x4 T100 and it was a great vehicle. Bought it new in August of 1998.

I loved the "T". The engine compartment was cavernous and it was bulletproof. The only problem I had was my youngest son grew to over 6 ft. tall and he got tired of climbing into the rear seat. He enjoys just opening the door of the RL. It survived 3 hailstorms, so I was really surprised I got $7000 as a trade-in. That was just before the automobile market fell apart.
I might have gotten a Tundra except in my neighborhood it is best to park the vehicles in the garage at night and the Tundra would not fit. The Tocoma would have, but I preferred the RL since I am not much of a 4 wheeler.
Have a great evening.

RkyMntHigh 11-19-2008, 12:02 PM Here she is, I will take better picture when I am skiing next week (if there is any snow that is!) Edit" I posted pic of her in the snow on hoosier pass in the Images Link under "Snow"

My biggest complaint about the T was the lack of occupant protection in the rear seat. Get clobbered in the tail like I did and the rear seaters will likely break the rear glass with their heads.
Fortunately I was alone when I was rear-ended.
Hhessler9 11-25-2008, 08:25 PM Just for the record, I have purchased three new Honda's from Schomp and I do not feel like I was "taken' any of those times on the purchase. I know for a fact they have bent over back wards a few times over service issues.
TKMoto 12-05-2008, 11:59 AM I purchased my ridgeline from Burt-Kuni also. At the time I purchased, they had the best prices. They ended up being the friendliest and easiest dealer I have ever worked with. There service department is exceptional also. If you need the name of an easy to deal with salesman, let me know.
b727plumber 12-05-2008, 12:52 PM Okay, South Denver ROCers!
For those of you that have used the service departments at both Ralph Schomp and Burt-Kuni, which one do you prefer and why??
I live close enough to go to either - just looking for good recommendations!
Thanks!
RkyMntHigh 12-06-2008, 04:21 PM I would say Burt-Kuni. I scheduled a service on the "Owener Link" and they called me back right away to confirm and then when I had to cancell becuase of the snow on Thursday they said "No problem, we'll see you the next time you need to come in Mr. S".
This is FAR BETTER service than I can say from my local (COS) dealer who is not even on the Owner Link! After they broke my windshield they fought with me for over an hour on who was going to pay for it. They finally gave in after I wouldn't budge and threatened to call Honda of America, I also called five other delaerships (Not honda) around town and asked if they had broken a customer's windshield would they replace it no questions asked, they all said yes. Pathetic.
Victorinox 12-07-2008, 08:44 AM I bought mine at the end of April of this year, Gas was $3.89 and I negotiated $8500 off sticker price. That is on Schlomp in Littleton.
They was quick and easy to work with. Never tried Kuni.
mgalexa 08-18-2009, 10:31 PM Bought mine at Schomp better price and selection, but prefer service at Kuni.
