This is a place for these regions to discuss and determine where they want their natty meet.

To make it happen, someone(s) will need to take a leadership role and run with it.

In early post I said I would like to do tour of Alabama Honda Plant.
Since this will not on the scale of last years Combo National Meet I am open to other locations. I do wan't to make it to one of the Mid-South Meets so Iam kinda torn between Northeast/Mid-Atlantic & Mid South. With that said if we have it in the PA area around Hershey this would be in the 2hr-3hr travel range for me. If we have it in the Hampton Roads/ Norfolk VA area then it is in the 3hr-4hr travel range for me. The falls also sound okay never been there before.

I would love to see the meet in Hershey, PA. Relatively convenient for ROCers from several states! Kids-friendly! Beautiful country! Lots to do! Brewing companies!

Since this will not on the scale of last years Combo National Meet I am open to other locations. I wouldn't be sure on that statement as there were many people who couldn't drive to OH for 3 days, but can make a regional meet. Then add in the CRV and Element folks with the same situations... this region could be bigger than last years national.

If there is any possibility of it being Niagara Falls Canadian side...Do you now have to have a passport to cross the border?

I am going to throw DC into the mix. Really want to see the new air and space hangar and have not been to the whole national mall area in MANY years. Can you say Ridgeline caravan around the white house....well at least as close as we could get nowadays.

Hopefully we can still have one BIG meet (call it regional) each year where we can meet a large population of other club members. We've got four southwestern/south regional meets already targeted for 2009.

February 14 - Dallas TX --------> (car show)
April 18-19 - Sedona AZ ------- > (great season)
August - Fort Worth TX --------> (car show)
September - Eureka Springs AR -> (car show)

A DC meet would be a great photo op.

I'd go to DC or Hershey. Both are great destinations and easy drives for many. I really like the idea of going to the new air museum. it's 30 minutes from my home and I haven't been there yet.:(

I VOTE Hershey just b/c my wife has been wanting to go for the longest time and I have been stalling big time. It is one of her favoritie places to be and she tells me every year WHY DON'T You SUPRIZE me and take me to Hershey. It is a great place for children and there is lots to do. This might be my big chance. I have a Ridge she has an Element (Why NoT?).

I've been talking to the folks at Hershey trying to put something together. Please be advised the Lodging prices at the Hershey Hotels are outrageous. If it all comes about, it'll be a day trip for me.

You would not have to stay in Hershey. Rt 322 takes you to the park and there is plenty of Hotels in the surrounding vicinity. Rates for all hotels are higher during the summer months due to HersheyPark but there is plenty to choose from, with more being built everyday.

Hey Justin, how you been?

I'm sure we can find something nearby, I was just hoping to get a place associated with the Park.

I've been good, how about you? It will probably hard to find one associated with the park at a reasonable price because Hershey is all about money. All about money!!!!

After some discussion last night, we have narrowed the meet down to two places. Williamsburg and Hershey. We need to decide soon for bookings.

Williamsburg sounds interesting. Might draw some form the southern areas since there is very little interest shown to date. Be a little over 600 miles for me; but what the heck at least it is a plan!!!

WilliamsBurg VA sounds okay to me they have Bush Gardens have not been there for awhile. When they opened in the 70s my cousins & I wore it out in our teenage years. They live in Hampton & I was always down at there house doing summer vacations & when we were much younger my father did his Naval Reserve duty on ships & subs at the Naval Base. We stayed sometimes for a few weeks at my cousins house while he did his duty. Then he could see us doing his off time. I was down last year in Va Beach then had dinner at my cousin's house in Hampton.

I'm still leaning toward Hershey Park. No parking problems (they'll rope off an area just for us), lots to do, they'll feed us under one of their pavillions, family oriented especially for the kids, should be somewhat easy to arrange, many RL owners in the nearby area, on-site camping area for those who indulge in such activities, rrider will probably attend :), and many other local sites to visit within a short drive of Hershey.

Downside.... some may consider it pricey, but the cost of Park admission will be included along with the meal. Weather is always unpredictable. They already have other groups booked for June 27th, but will save a slot of time for us.

So let's hear it guys. Should we call Hershey Park the Mid-Atlantic National/Regional Meet location? We need to finalize this very soon.

Would not matter to me I would just take 695 to 83 North to the Hershey area. Its about 1 & a half to 2 hours for me I know from my house to my great aunt's house in Harrisburg was 120 miles. I use to make that run 2 or 3 times a year until 1994.
