JJRidge 12-26-2008, 06:06 PM Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone here has dealt with internet sales managers here in NOVA, and if so, do you happen to have their email?
Id rather not use a site which requires you to put your phone number where they will keep calling you... So I figure the best option is to see if someone has that info off the bat and then they will have to deal with me via email.
Funny story, I tried to call some dealerships and they were totally not willing or wanting to give up that info. When the person hesitates to give you the email (like totally stalling)... you have to wonder what they are up to.
Thanks! Id take emails anywhere west to Koons, and East to MD, and probably south to Landmark.
TIA!
speedlever 12-26-2008, 06:19 PM No problem... just put a fake number in that field: 123-456-7890 will do. If they want to have a shot at your biz, they'll have to play the game your way.

Haha, Speedlever, that's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?!
wrenrj1 12-26-2008, 06:41 PM First, what's NOVA? Sorry, I'm from Nebraska...
I'm assuming you're looking for internet sales for an RL. I refuse to talk over the phone to sales people and will tell them in the email that if they call they'll be off the list. I do ask for a contact number and person however, as many dealerships have an internet sales person...
On another note, I've set up an email address just for sales, purchases, correspondence, etc. that's not of a personal nature. Only my friends/family have my other email address.

NOVA is Northern VIRGINIA the surbubs of Washington, DC. Its the area that strectes maybe about 40 miles outside of DC. going south towards Richmond and a area that has grown alot over the last 20years.
Wuptdo 12-26-2008, 07:24 PM Yep, I remember NoVA back in the day. When Route 7 was only two lanes, Tyson's Corner was actually a Dairy Farm, and Vienna had a Burger Chef! Also, going to Dulles Airport or Mananas was a trip out to the country.
"You always get your way at Ourisman Chevrolet,
the home of the number one deal......."
Now when I go back to the D.C. area, I get lost.
Just before we got the Ridgeline my sister entered info for Internet Sales.
That was like Jan 07 boy they were calling fast or leaving many messages on my voice mail. I talked to one guy & my sister talk to a woman 2 others left the messages. I was turned off by them She entered the info of 2007 RTL with NAV. The guy was trying to push a 2006 RTX the lady was trying to push something else.
I said forget it & would not answer the phone. I called my old Honda dealership in Silver Spring Sport Honda ask a saleperson I knew to send me all info on 2007 Ridgeline. He was not internet guy but I knew if we went with him we would get what we wanted. It was hard to find the Dark Cherry with Nav it was a new color back in 07. I told him it had to be this color & have Nav. Once we put $1,000 down by credit card for the deal to be serious that was on a Thurs. He said he would be off untill Mon he called us that mourning & said he found truck in Baltimore area. He was then rushing to get the accessories ordered. He said could we pick it up on that Wednesday afternoon. We did everything over the phone untill we picked it up. The Internet people were still calling me & that guy was still trying to push some 06 model he had on the lot. My sister sent me the email she sent to the dealers & it clearly said 07 RTL with Nav 3 were trying to push other Ridgeline models they had. We had never said anything about color.
Wuptdo 12-27-2008, 08:53 AM I just did a search like I did for my Ridgeline when I bought it in North Carolina. The same system holds true for NOVA dealers, but YOU have to do the homework.
1) Go to the Honda website, hit the "find a dealer" and put in your zip code;
2) A list of about six dealerships showed up;
3) Using the real dealer name, pop open another internet window and find that dealership;
4) somewhere on the dealer websites there is a "Check inventory" button, click on that;
5) Just input "Ridgeline" under model and all the Ridgelines on the lot should pop up (Note: dealerships are slow about keeping the inventory up to date)
6) With pad and pen check it over. If there is a Ridgeline that meets your requirements, write down the dealership, and the dealer number of that Ridgeline;
7) I always send a e-mail directly at that pointing asking if the truck is still available;
8) Repeat the above with the other dealerships and hopefully you will find 2 or 3 Ridgelines to choose from;
9) Play the dealerships against one another for the best price, and look over and test drive at least two and let them know you are shopping
10) If you really want to shake them up, tell them you are looking in Maryland or down in Richmond as well -- let's them know you are serious
11) Make sure you check Edmund's and Kelly Blue Book for new car pricing
12) Check with the BBB or State Attorney's office for Dealer reputation; you don't want to deal with butthead's in this day and age.
13) I have found that most dealerships in the Carolina's only keep a few Ridgelines in stock, and you usually get the best deals if the truck is on the lot.
14) Always tell them you want the "out-the-door" price too.
Just my 2 cents and I hope this helps. Buying a new truck should NOT be easy if you want the best price.
shovelhd 12-27-2008, 08:55 AM Also use lotpro.com.
I also use a fake number.
