How big of a subwoofer can fit flat underneath the seat..

I have a 15" subwoofer which is in my jeep.
Do I have any luck putting it in a ridgeline?
With the seats down?

Thanks,
Andrew

Depends on how deep it is. 6" is pretty easy to get. Beyond that starts taking some creative work. With fiberglass, I think you might could get up to 7" depth. The biggest problem would be not 15" of width. The box would probably have to stick out from under the seat.

If I decide NOT to use 15" subwoofer. How many 10" subwoofers could I fit underneath the seat?

Memphis 10" subwoofers.

physically i believe you could fit four 10" subs under the seat, however the internal volume would be pretty darn small, and I think it would sound like cr&p. depending on the volume requirements of your particular drivers I believe you might be able to do 3, although 2 is far more common, at least on this forum.

I don't get my ridgeline till April, so I'm trying to get an idea of what size subwoofer people use in their ridgelines, and how many. :)

So I can definetly do 3 10" subs.

Thanks a bunch!

I think 3 could be done pretty easy. I even think 4 might be possible with a very small box sub. Some 10" will fit in tiny boxes down to around .25 per sub. That is only around 1 cubic foot for 4 of them. I know the Image Dynamics IDQ V2 can go in as little as .35 so 4 of them would need 1.4. That might be tight but could be done:)

I will have to check and ask my box designer that's done my previous box with my 15" sub. I would love to do 4 10" subs.

I will let you all know in April how it goes!

I'm running 2 10" Image Dynamic ID v.3 in my truck. Each sub has .75 cu ft sealed and it sounds great. I've been running ID subs for a long time and will probably continue to do so for some time.

If you have your hear set on using 15" subwoofers, and you don't mind losing the rear seat, I can make you a deal on a lightly used custom subwoofer enclosure and with three 15" Rockford Fosgate T-1's and a pair of custom painted Fosgate amps, including a T-3001. :D

Of course unless you live in the Phoenix, area, shipping might cost a little more.

If you can fit 4 10" subs under the seat you would have a serious system. I have used 4 10"s before in my old car and sound incredible because of the cone surface area and the fast moving nature of a 10" sub.;)

Rusty, thanks for the offer! I will look into that. :)

Mr Bigs, I really hope I can put 4 10" subs under the rear seats. It would be amazing. I will try! If not, I will put 3 in.

would you really favor 4 x 8" subs over 3 x 10"? I'm not trying to be troll.... i really am curious how 4x8s would be adventagous to 3x10s.

those that know me know i'm really not one for bling, preferring stealth to show... but i do like the creative mounting of the amp here to maximize box size. i wonder how stable it is.

That is a terrible place for the amp. Guaranteed to get kicked by just about anyone sitting in that seat.

That Ridgeline looks positively ridiculous and stupid with 24 inch wheels. I guess he just drives it on perfect roads. But I also think 22s look stupid. Just my opinion of course.

The sharp bends in the wiring aren't good.
