and it makes a huge difference in reception. if anyone is coming up on on three years/36,000 take advantage and have it done. on an 06 RTL, not sure how many other radios that TSB was for. good thing I'm patient, dropped off the Ridge one morning, van took me home. they didn't have the part so I picked it up and when the part came in I did the drill again. this time they called and said only part of the parts came in, could I pick it up and bring it in another day. took it in another day, this time they called and said they needed to keep it overnight, it was taking way longer than the shop manual said it would. two days later after big snowstorm I finally was able to get the Ridge. but the radio works really well ... and they call me by name there now.

As someone who has had this done, your story is typical. To me, it's like killing flies with a shotgun.

A shotgun is a VERY effective weapon against flies. One shot, many kills :D ;)
