Well, I am trying to work with the EOC on where we would like to have the Combo meet for this year at. I say Yellowstone because it is pretty central to every one. But where do you guys and girls think it should be at?
Thanks,
RkyMntHigh

P.S. The dates are the 26-28 of June.

Yellowstone would be awesome and should attract people, but I think the meeting place would need to be somewhere outside the park. The west and south entrances are the most accessible for the majority of people. It's hard to get reservations in the park and the park is so huge that I think identifying Island Park, West Yellowstone or somewhere in the Jackson Hole area as the meet location and then driving into the park together would be the way to go about it.

I REALLY want to go to Yellowstone this coming summer! We bought a new telescope that I want to try out watching for bears and wolves.

I wish you'd put "Yellowstone" in your thread title! Could one of the mods make it say "Yellowstone Combo Meet" so that it's obvious what part of the country we're talking about? Wouldn't hurt to add ROC/EOC too.

Well, this is to see where we would all like to me not just you and I. I agree I would LOVE to go to Yellowstone, and Jackson Hole would be a great meet place. But like I said where would Every one like to go?

Like the idea of Jackson/YSP area. But timing is everything in that area as it is so popular. A combo meet seems the way to go and as long as I get ashot at breakfast at Jedediahs I will make the trip. For me the best idea is to be at the Grand Teton Lodge and it has camping as well as cabins and that way all get a shot at Jackson and YSP. My two bits worth.:)

Moving thread to the 2009 National Meet section and adding "Rocky Mountain" to the thread title

Well, I figure if every one got on board now we can start reserving Lodging/Camping spots so that there is room. Either way if nothing becomes of the Rocky Mountain Combo Meet (Element owners aren't showing much intrest) I will more than likely still end up going because I already got the time off from work.

Do you have time to take off work and the date's still flexible? Or are you looking for this to occur on a specific date? If you've got the time scheduled off work already, how 'bout posting the dates you're looking at so we can start to figure out if that timing works for the rest of us?

Never mind. I just noticed the PS in your first post.

In case anyone else is as dense as me:

P.S. The dates are the 26-28 of June.

I those are the official Dates from TMac for the Combo dates. But if we all want to do different dates that is fine as well. I get two weeks paid off and can use them at my discretion but I need to put in for it early so no one else grabs the dates

I guess I am the only one in the area familiar enough with the setup for YSP/Jackson/Teton Park and of course the dates are ok with me but getting the necessary reservations or a central meeting spot can be tight. I will grag what data I can and post for your review. And then we can all perhaps agree on what will work.
Will try to get it together today and post tonight.

sounds good. I have never been to Yellowstone. It is one of the NP that I really want to go to. I had the chance in High School but got sick the night before my family lieft and had to stay home. Been dying to get up there ever since.

I"ve been to Yellowstone and Jackson several times and would be glad to help. This is a great place for a gettogether.
