Kevin,
Well done on the video! For those of you that have never been to the Sedona meet, you're missing something special. It's a beautiful place and the ROC family members are a blast to hang out with. I have been to a lot of meets and nothing beats Sedona! Let's beat last year's 21 truck total and let's get some 2009s there. Looking forward to seeing you all.

No way you are NOT going to be there! A full tank of gas is all you need, coming from Phoenix :p Even if you have to drive back up for day 2, we are planning something a 'little' closer to the Phoenix area this time.... ;)

Kevin, what a nice surprise to watch the YouTube commemoration of our previous meets. You did a great job putting the video together.

We are planning on attending and have our reservations at the Sky Ranch Lodge. The only thing I can see potentially derailing our plans is if UDOT gets in a hurry to cram the stalled project of the road in our backyard down our throats in March and April. Unfortunately, that could happen. I will be heartbroken and outraged if they time it in a way that prevents us from coming.

PS - UDOT be damned. We're not letting them ruin this trip.

Be sure and swing by the Sky Ranch poll if you're going to be staying on the mesa with the rest of us.

Hi Pam, glad you liked the youtube. It was the first time I've uploaded a video and the quality on youtube is not so hot. I do have it in DVD version or if anyone knows a better place to post, let me know.

I hope the UDOT matter won't bump you from another great meet. I know you want to be there!!:p Look forward to seeing you guys again.

Here is a little information about Sedona i.e. lodging, camping, etc....

HOTELS

Spring time is peak season in Sedona, so getting good rates is hard. Most hotel accommodations are nice and about the only one I would avoid is White House Inn. Also, there are some construction projects going on along Hwy. 179, so I would tend to avoid hotels with a Hwy. 179 address (or just add an extra 10-20 minutes to your commute, depending on what they are doing at that time).

The city of Cottonwood is 20 minutes west of Sedona for those who are more budget-conscious. There are limited hotels, including a Best Western, which is about the only hotel I know of that's reasonable.

As for Sedona, the one hotel that has been a favorite amongst past attendees is the Sky Ranch Lodge (http://www.skyranchlodge.com/) (check with Truckin' and Twintym for their opinions). 4-5 attendees have already booked for this hotel, and it is pet friendly.

Although we could not obtain a group rate, I was able to get 10 rooms blocked off for our meet. If you have already booked, you do not need to do anything! This block of rooms is in addition to previous reservations. The rates are posted on the website (and are the same regardless if you book now or have already booked) and range from $80 - $194 per night depending on your wants/needs. The rooms will only be held until March 17th, 2009 and some have been saved at all price ranges, but they are being flexible. Just tell them you are booking under the Ridgeline Owners Club Sedona Meet. The dates have been set aside for three nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) but again, they are flexible. Ask for Nicholas if you have questions.

If doing a search for other hotel rooms, I recommend this search engine site (http://http://www.kayak.com/hotels) for hotels.

Camping

There are some that have camped here in years past and again, I defer you to 5SDude, Twintym and Ahab for their opinions. They have all stayed at Rancho Sedona RV Park (http://www.ranchosedona.com/). This is a location, however, that is smack near the heart of the construction.

Another nearby camp site is Lolomai Srpings Outdoor Resort (http://www.lolomai.com/). It is 10 minutes west of Sedona and I've driven thru there on a past occasion; seems nice.

Other camping resources for the area are:

Sedona RV Park Reviews (http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Arizona/Sedona.html)

Red Rock Country (http://www.redrockcountry.org/)

If you have any questions about anything, email me at my signature email address or post a question on this thread.

And, if you are coming, let us know which hotel or camp site you've chosen so you can meet up with other ROC-Heads!!!

Sorry, I knew I forgot to mention it...

If anyone already has reservations for Sky Ranch, you do not need to be part of the block that I had put aside today. That is in addition to all of you who are already booked. The rates are the same (sorry, no discounts) but at least it can be a central focus.

Thanks for the reminder...I'll modify the other post...:o

This is so exciting. RIDGELINE party at the Sky Ranch! Dang, the pool closes at 9 PM, so the nights of the meet we aren't likely to get a dip.

We're arriving Thursday night so we'll be able to use the pool (hot tub) at least once. We might even come a day or two earlier or stay an extra day. We reserved a Rim Room, but the Garden rooms are nice too. Don't bother with the 'Partial View' rooms. That's in the only two story building and it's not near the rim.

It's going to be a Ridgeline presence on the mesa. Breakfast at the Airport Restaurant is a natural.

YIPPEE! I am so excited. Sedona was the only trip we took last year so a good road trip is long overdue.

Tony, you staying up high with us this year?

The Ranch has wireless internet connections and a visitor computer in the lobby so we can update the rest of the ROC community each day.

Pam, thanks for the feedback on the Lodge. Working here and seeing it is much different than staying there. I was very surprised at how reasonable the rates are given the time of year but I see from their brochure and site they keep their rates constant.

I think there are at least 5-6 that have already booked prior to my stopping by today and putting a block of 10 more aside for us. I hope others take advantage of this great location and have a place to mingle with other ROC'ers.

As for the hot tub.... if enough members stay there, that might be the meeting place!!! :p

Hey, this is great news! I'm glad you got your room up with us. You might have to adopt one of my pooches for the meet. We have a dilemma of having three dogs now and I'm quite sure the Ranch only lets you have two per room. . .

I'm so excited each time I read this thread and see that more people are coming, more people are staying at the ranch. I'm especially stoked about the easterners coming cross country to be part of this great event. We aren't going to win the longest distance title this year.

We have a lot of out-of-state attendees this year, including new states being represented (Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Arkansas and Colorado).

So, come on locals! Let's show our ROC friends from around the country how its done here in AZ! If you are an AZ ROC member and have never made a meet, let this be a first! If we can get people from 2500 miles away, then surely we can get some more from 100 miles!! :p

I know Tucker replied (but did not add his name to the post) and Arizona Ridgeliner ! (Mike) is coming, but he hasn't gotten onto the site. So we have 16 confirmed, and I am working on a few more from email contacts.

We had 21 last year. I think we could easily have 25-30 with a little commitment to having fun!

Come one, come all. This could be the largest non-combo ROC meet this year. :D

Is anyone one else booked on the rim? We could request adjacent rooms, if possible, or at least the same unit. The balconies in the four plex Rim Rooms aren't blocked off from the others in the unit.

I know you've given it a lot of thought Steve and if you change your mind that would be great!

Steve comes to Sedona on a 'regular' basis but flies in. I've had the pleasure of meeting him and his lovely wife on a couple occasions now and we keep in touch by phone and email. I think Steve will someday be a transplant from the east coast! So I know when that happens he will be at all our meets!!:p

On a side note, I see our 'maybe' list is growing! That's a good thing. What the 'definites' do not show are Tucker (who forgot to do the poll) and Mike (AZ Ridgeliner!) who doesn't log in. But they will definitely be here so we actually have 16 confirmed right now. I'll do a separate post on the definites and maybes soon.

Jason, we are coming for the camaraderie and adventures. Don't knock yourself out trying to outdo yourself from last year. That event was legendary and if you weren't there you missed out.

I have to agree that Jason made it legendary with his smooth sales pitches that had everyone walking away with something. With this economy it will be tougher but all we can do is try.

The economy is also affecting some from coming this year and I had hoped we would have a strong turnout. So far its looking decent, and I would love to see 25 RLs this year. I haven't heard from a lot of the Phoenix crew I was hoping to hear from so if you are reading this, its a short trip up.

Jason and I are in the planning stages for Day 2 (Sunday) which we are considering the mines and ghost towns of the Crown King area, about an hour or so south of Sedona (and close to the Phoenix crowd). We will meet in the next week or two with Tucker and scout the area.

As for Sedona on Saturday, well, there are only so many trails and Indian ruins so for our return ROC-heads we will try not to bore or disappoint.

One of the things I would like to get feedback on is possibly having window VIN etching available. If that was something attendees are interested in, we might have to move the Sat morning meet location from our customary Cultural Park to City Hall (near the PD to do the etching). I had it done on my windows and its easy and quick.

Thoughts?

We already have window etching that we got bilked into buying from the dealer after they did it when we bought our truck. No interest in that for us, obviously.

I also want to vote for the Cultural Park for the starting point because it's such a great, scenic place to get our line up shots.

My preference is Cultural Park, but if we have any interest in VIN etching I think Saturday may be the only day. Perhaps we can offer it as an early AM option. I have to line up the equipment and personnel so if there's interest, we can figure something out.

I also figure there are some that won't want to get their trucks off road. May be an option for them as well.

Pam, I'm in chat room with Tony...come on in....

Window etching sounds good. I had planned on having my done, but was in the shop when the opportunity came and went.

As for a day trip on Saturday, how about a drive up Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff, with a stop for lunch in Flagstaff. There's a fantastic burger place right off of 89 in Flag, Bun Huggers I think, that should satisfy everyone.

We were likely going to do Picazzo's for lunch....we've had success there in the past. I will put an itinerary together soon....

Picazzo's for lunch has become traditional for the Sedona Meet. I may take my friend Stacie to the Grand Canyon early Sunday morning then head for home around 2:00 or 3:00 that afternoon. If she still comes along. She has never seen it.

Hey, sorry I missed the chance to hop in the chat last night. I'm so anxious for the trip and I would love to mull it over with you beforehand.

I'm trying to get another RL owner from here to come down but they have the complication of a teen in school so it might not work out for them.

It looks like we're going to kennel Shimmer for the first time in her life. :( I've found a place that caters and pampers more than most places. We hate to leave her but in some ways it will be better for us and the other two dogs.

Sorry to hear about Shimmer not making the trip. I know its got to be difficult for you guys. I am sure it will work out and she will be in good hands.

I know you have been looking forward to this trip back so hopefully that will get you through this past year that has been rough on you and Harold. A little time away will do wonders!

Schools are so different in every state and even within state. So I can relate to the school issue and wanting to keep your kid in school. We took Erin and Dylan out of school last Nov. to go to a wedding in CA and they missed 2 days. It wouldn't have been so bad but Dylan was sick the week before and missed 4 days from that. It was a family wedding so a hard call. I'm sure your friend/acquaintance will make the right decision.

We will have fun and enjoy the time together as we have these past several years. I hope to see more new people as well so they can share in the bonding of some new friendships too.

YIPPEE! I'm so excited. Will Nic be in school or able to come? Did you get a garden or rim room?

We got our reservations for Shimmer. We'll be heading up to look at her doggie accommodations to make sure we like the place. It was recommended to us by a friend who does animal rescues and dog fostering. I trust her judgment but I want to see it beforehand. We can take items or bedding from home so she'll have familiar scents around her. I'm sure she'll spend most of the time sleeping. She turns 13 in a couple of weeks so she's really slowing down now.

Kev, you are so correct about us needing a break from the UDOT stress and change of scenery. We will relish every moment of our getaway.

Ron, you don't know how happy it makes me knowing you guys are coming! Kris, the kids and I always look forward to seeing you guys, whether its here or in So Cal. You've made my day (or night, since I'm working!)

I got a response from JozRidge, and he is a probable at this time. I hope him and Joyce make it as well.

I've not heard from Podo (Chris & Pam) and hope they are okay.

Now we have to get Kanji to come out this year. He missed a great meet last year and he can't miss this one! If anyone in SoCal speaks to Ridgegal, its time for the 'twins' to get together again. She'll know what that means!

Chris and Pam are also scheduled to attend our Fun-in-the Sun meet & greets on March 28th as are both of our Kellys (SheDevil & Ridgegal).

We will of course, spread the word down here and hopefully increase the attendance to record breaking numbers.

I will be busy formulating a very special custom one-off gift giveaway for our annual raffle during this awesome event as well from 5S Dude!

Been a little busy lately but thought I'd start a post with the attendees and possible attendees. In addition to ROC members I may have one or two other (local) RL owners coming. This list is based off poll listings, posts and pm/email contacts.

If you need to be moved from one category to another, or removed, let me know. I've also listed those that are staying at the same hotel (Sky Ranch Lodge) so you know who you can all mingle with. Any corrections or updates, let me know as well.

I think the Sedona meet has just become the unofficial 2009 national ROC meet. We are very close to having a record number of RLs in one meet. Let's keep talking it up to all our ROC buddies across the country. We can do it! :D

Glad you broke down and decided to join us 63Tbird :D

Look at this line up! Up until this year we've driven the farthest. I never guessed we'd pull people from so far back east.

Welcome QC....we need some local support as AZ is being invaded!! We are in the upper 20's and will likely hit 30 before all is said and done. Last year we had 21.....blowing that out! (if you haven't seen the video, go back to the first thread and it recaps the first 4 meets....)

To all the folks keeping track of this thread and coming to Sedona, I'm going to need some specifics to make the name badges: First name of all attending and what days you'll be hanging with us. If you don't want to post that in this thread, send the info to me or Kevin. Kevin and I will be staying in touch.

I will be out of town (Vegas) this week so I won't be updating this list until next weekend. While there I hope to meet with one of our Vegas sponsors who generously donated to our meet last year.

Jason and I have some other things in store. We may not have the success of nice give away prizes as last year, but we will make it fun and interesting. We will be putting out an itinerary soon (after I get back and meet with Jason). I do not want anyone to feel they need to 'go with the program' and if you want to do your own thing, that's what this trip should be for you. I only ask that everyone show up at the initial meeting point on time and we can go from there!!

If you want to email me with some pedigree information, this is what I will be looking for if you haven't provided it already (via posts, IMs or you are just a regular....):

**First name
**Any other attendees in your group - First name
**State you are coming from
**Where you are staying
**contact phone # - cell # preferred (I will reply with my cell # and Jason's #)
**Truck color!! (With so many trucks which color will prevail? The blue "Smurfs" have ruled the past few years here on the west coast!
**Pet names (if bringing pets)

Send emails to meanmachine19@yahoo.com

I will update my existing list.

Email me if you have questions. I can give you my cell # or get ahold of Twintym or Toobuku (they have my cell # if you need to contact me this week).

Let's set our sights on 35 for this meet! I am working on a few non-ROC locals to attend (in hopes they will join this site too!).

What is the record for RLs at a meet anyway?? (Little side note - Sedona I had 8 RLs in August, 2005. At that time it was the largest ROC meet! :p.....how far we've come...!

This is the first time turning on the computer in 6 weeks. I'll check back when possible.

Updated 3/6/09 to include PizzaMan!

It would be nice to hear from the 'Possibles' just to update us on your status - yay, nay or still maybe.... It's definitely not too late. As the list grows though, it would be easier to know now than at the last minute.

We are looking into the possibility of some shirts that can be ordered individually. More to come on that.....

Let me know if you need any help with the taxi service from Flagstaff to Sedona. Depending on the time, I might be able to leave work early and drive up north Friday mid-day.
Thanks for the offer Rusty, but it looks like my East Coast Paisons already have me covered. They're picking up their wifes in Flagstaff who are flying in and I'm flying in with them. :)

I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw the photos from the first Sedona Meet! I can't wait to get there. I just wish I could take the time to drive in with my buddies. What an adventure they're gonna have!

With at least 20 of you up there.....wow! Didn't even think they had that many rooms!! :D

It is a nice place and the views are awesome. There is a separate overlook that tourists go to every night to watch the sunset. By staying at the Lodge, you won't have to deal with that crowd! (you will have your own overlook).

There is a nearby restaurant, which is pretty nice. I will be posting all my favorite locations and things to do in an upcoming post (from restaurants to dog parks to casino action, etc).

Shaggy, that's great. which column shall I put you in?

My kids (7 & 9) will be at the meet as well, so they won't be the only ones!

The meet time is tentatively 9:30 but I've yet to put the agenda together for the two day event. Keep checking on this regularly! As we get closer, there will be more information!

You need 100 more to make it to the Comma Club and be one of (probably) 14 to be in the elite picture!! That's insane, 14 comma club members together at once!! 14 out of (what will be) 66 members....we could use a couple more! (How about it Kanji???) :p

After we take the pic, I plan on adding up the total number of posts by the members in that pic (probably won't equal K757!!)
