Drilling into rear bumper to mount trailer connector?

Hi all. Well, I just finished the install of my factory wiring kit and Hidden-Hitch receiver. As everyone knows, unless you bought the factory hitch, your receiver has no provision for a connector bracket. It appears the "locator nub" can be ground off of the factory bracket, and the bracket can be mounted to the underside of the rear bumper. Has anyone done this? Any potential interference with any electonic devices in there?

I drilled into the hitch bar and mounted it there. I oughta post a pic hadn't I?
